Default Royal Jordanian 788

Does anyone know if this model is in the pipeline for one of the manufacturers in 1:200? I believe Phoenix did this model, but to be honest I'd rather purchase it from either GJ/JCW.

Who doesn't love this colourful livery?

Also, does anyone know why some have white engines, whereas others don't?

Until GJ/JCW gets the engine pylon height/landing gear length sorted out, no more GJ/JCW 787s for me.

If they get those issues fixed, this would be a GREAT first release on the revised mold.

I'd take one if Gemini or JC Wings did one for sure!!! I asked JC wings about a year ago and they said they had no interest in the project. Phoenix did 2 versions, and they are no bad models at all.

The mold was PERFECT until the last landing gear revision. Go back to the old gear!

As I mentioned on the LOT 787 post, personally I don't mind as I keep my models on their stands - so it's less noticeable. However, if you're someone who displays your models on their wheels, if the two versions are next to one another, I see how that can be annoying. Guess it boils down to that!

I'd snatch one of these beauties up so quickly as well! They fly to YUL and boy are they pretty. I'm a bit picky and since Phoenix doesn't have a similar stand to GJ/JCW. Therefore, they are not an option for me. Hopefully we see one redone soon! I think the colourful engine livery adds a little more to aircraft compared to the all white.

Noooo, the engine/pylon area is off. That was my biggest gripe. The gear change a good idea, but failed in execution. But I do appreciate he raise in the main gear. No longer have to put tissue in the gear hole to raise it.

But I'm with Charlie Alpha. I won't buy another Dreamliner until those engines and pylons are fixed. If anything, I think the engine is a bit too large in diameter, and the pylon too thick.

Unfortunately, the engine pylons place the engines too low and are the other half of the ground clearance problem. Compare the GJ/JCW model's pylons to pictures of the real thing and you will see the difference.

The old gear did place the fuselage at the correct height, but the 'long' engine pylons placed the engine too low to the ground. Unless the pylons are modified, using the old landing would would put the model right back to the 'too low engine' condition that sparked the original complaints and resulting modifications to begin with.

That is the reason I sold off all of my JC/Gemini 787 models with exception of the Scoot as that was a gift

I am in the minority but I like my Phoenix diecast 787-8s and my Hogan 787-9 in the House colors.

I agree. If no antennas doesn't bother you, the Hogan model is very nice. Engines, gear and pylons all look good, and if you don't have an 'anti-plactic' fetish, a good choice. I also like the Phoenix model. The engines are slightly low on that model also, but better than the GJ/JCW current mold. And the landing gear look better than the current 'extended' JCW gear. I'm not crazy about the upswept wing tips (wish Phoenix would make 'ground configuration' wings instead) but still a very nice model and a good alternative to the GJ/JCW one.

The engines are white and grey/red on the aircraft because they upgrade the scheme after the first aircrafts arrive. So the white engines are the ''older scheme'' and the grey is the ''newest''.
l have the Phoenix model and I think the overall grey colour is a little bit more ''White'' than the GJ A319 and JC's older RJ's L-1011 releases. Still a nice model any way the Phoenix RJ B787!!

I have 4 Pheonix 788s. Royal Joranian (red grey) engines, Lan, Hainan and China Southern. I think they look fine and I certainly would bother buying JC/GJ or Inflight models to replace them!
