Default HM Douglas C-47 Skytrain USAAF 53rd TCS "Sky King" HL1305

Got this cute little plane into my collection:

Hobby Master
Douglas C-47 Skytrain
USAAF 53rd TCS
#42-32832, "Sky King"
Mt. Pleasant
Item: HL1305 (1:200 Scale)

Douglas C-47-DL 42-32832 was delivered to the USAAF on February 11, 1943 and assigned to the 53rd Troop Carrier Squadron. On May 4, 1943 42-32832 was one of 13 C-47s ordered to be ferried across the Atlantic Ocean to North Africa. After arriving in North Africa Lt. Donald King became the pilot of this aircraft for the duration of WWII. 42-32832 made paratroop drops, glider missions, flown supplies in and wounded out, it was also involved in D-Day drops and returned to the U.S. in July 1945.

It's a tiny compared to the other 1:200 scaled models, length around 3.75" and it is 5.75" wide. I do like it, here's some pictures:

The model shown has a passenger door, not the larger freight door. That makes it a C-53. Deicer boots on the leading edges of the wings, horizontal stabilizers and vertical tail were standard on WWII C-53/C47s but this model does not have them.

Is this a model of a genuine WWII aircraft or of one post war as a heritage flight aircraft?

Good observations! I'm going to try and dig up some photos of the original bird and see. I know some commercial aircraft were converted for military use in WWII, so it's entirely possible that it only had a passenger door. The lack of deicing boots is an oversight on Hobby Master's part though. Their DC-3 isn't the most accurate on the market, but there aren't many manufacturers putting them out right now so I welcome any new DC-3s. I welcome them more if all the details are accurate, mind you.
