My "Hawaiian" Fleet
Returned last week from Kauai and received my latest addition to the "Hawaiian" Fleet in the form of an Alaska 737-800. Went to Maui in 1996 via a Rich International L-1011 from SFO roundtrip. After many years of waiting, we returned to Hawaii in 2013 and have been fortunate enough to go several times a year since then. Have flown almost exclusively Hawaiian with the exception of 2014 which had us on UAL (777 outbound and 767 return out of SFO) I wanted to try Alaska which we did from OAK to LIH. (It was okay and would be fine if I did not already have a preference for Hawaiian and lots of miles via the HA mastercard) And let me be honest, I wanted to add another model to the collection. The 767's are starting to look a little long in the tooth inside and their entertainment system is pretty poor, but are such graceful looking liveries! Here is a group photo with the recent addition. I am looking forward to replacing my 717 with the Gemini offering soon enough. (I actually pre-ordered it while waiting to board one at LIH) Now that is useless trivia for you kind folks. Next up is SMF to HNL in a couple of months.

Re: My "Hawaiian" Fleet
Nice collection. I LOVE the theme. It doesn't limit you to one particular airline.
Well done!! |

ATA Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays L-1011 would look great in that gaggle of airplanes. A few different versions exist.

We rented a place in Hanamaulu. It was our first time to Kauai and we had different recommendations as to north or south, so we stayed in the middle. Poipu was beautiful. The whole island was amazing. |
Re: My "Hawaiian" Fleet
We always rent a place on the beach in Kekaha. I like that end of the island and close to Waimea Canyon.
Usually we would fly direct from PHX to LIH on US Airways. No idea if AA will keep that route going though. |
Re: My "Hawaiian" Fleet
Wow, nice fleet, and neat theme. Am I right in saying the United 777 carries on to Heathrow? I seem to recall about 18 years ago flying to LAX and the Battleship 777 on the next gate was headed to Honolulu via SF.

I like your Hawaiian collection that commerates planes you have flown to Hawaii.
It has been many years since I flew to Hawaii, the first time in 1958 on United Airlines. But, I really developed a love of the airlines that call Hawaii home. My collection covers Aloha Air Cargo, Ohana By Hawaiian, Island Air, Hawaiian and Aloha. I too have ordered the new 1:200 Hawaiian 717 and will be really challenged in finding space to display it. |
