Default Gemini A380 Modification

Two things come to our minds when we discuss the Gemini/JC 200 A380: misshapen wings and main gear spacing. I took matters into my own hands and somewhat resolved this. The wings were the biggest mofo of a mod. I removed the wings entirely, and if you do so, you will notice there is a little metal square at the end of the wing, to be inserted into the model. I managed to bend it so when I put the wings back into the model, it gave the deep A380 wing V we all see. In addition, I bent the wings by hand to give the ground shape. The last small thing I did was replace the small gear rim of the nose gear with one spare from a 747.

pardon some of the noticeable dust on the close ups. this model and some of my others sit in an open display, subject to that crap.

great stuff, that curve looks perfect. How did you get the wings out? I have tried with other models (767's and 777's) but I always end up putting close to maximum strength into it with no result and then back off for fear of damaging it. I have tried multiple other methods (steam, warm water, ect).

I agree! I have used steam on these glued parts and pulled with all the strength that I have but they do not come apart in some cases. Any suggestions on what to do if that happens?

You are a brave person. So you bend the wings in metal and no break? Look very good after the work.

Agree with TsuruBird - gutsy move but looks great. Nice work! Missed out this model; hoping it will be re-released one day.

I know this is off-topic, but what are the chances? I'm in the same situation, missed it too and can't find it anywhere. I think it's one of the the best looking A380 liveries.

Any idea on the best way to fix my wheely problem. I have Gemini Qatar a380 in 1-400 scale and it sits with the front wheels off the ground. If I fool around with the main gear and set it down just right it's good but I am way to OCD go just leave it as it's never sitting just as I want it on the first try so I'll adjust the angle it's sitting and then the front wheel is back up. If I could master setting it down exactly as I want it id be ok. But I don't think that's possible. Lol
Just realized this is a 1-200 thread I'm sorry bout that but hey compaired to all of my other 1-400 this thing does look 1-200. Lol
