Default is it me or is it really good.

at my son's birthday. i saw the md11 ph-kcd. so, i decided i buy him as a birthday present. of course i brought the 1:200.

soon discovers that it is a rather addictive plane to collect.

my son has since rank his best plane as md11. no doubt it is smaller and less expensive plane he owns. he love it to the core.

so, did this happens to any of the members here too, or is it only my family.

For me it's the Boeing 737-200. I love the plane and there are so many to collect from all over the world. I collect in 1/400 scale and haven't found on in 1/200 I like enough but I collect as many as I can without breaking the bank

There is something special about trijets as they become an even more rare sight. I bought the FedEx MD-11 in a heartbeat because a FedEx MD-11 is the only MD-11 I've ever flown. I'm an ATC and it was the first time I had jumpseated after reaching a training milestone where you then got jumpseat privileges. For me, it was great to fly and great to also reach that milestone because I felt I made solid progress after seeing so many others washout.

However, a TWA 747 in twin stripes has and always will be my favorite. I was fortunate enough to ride one upstairs to Hawaii back in the day. It was a blast.

As the last tri-jet designed and the last Douglas, the MD11 has a special place in my heart. I have actively followed the phasing out of the KLM MD11's and taken my kids several times to Schiphol in order to see them in action when it was still possible. In this way I have been able to convey some of my enthusiasm to my son. My all time favourite though is the L1049G "Connie".

I know this is a HUGE surprise for the members here , but for me it is the 777-300ER. I think it is the prettiest aircraft ever designed. But the again, I'm partial.

So many beautiful airliners to choose from but for me it has to be the one & only Queen of the Skies, the original mother of all large passenger aircrft, the mighty Boeing 747 period.

For me the 747-400 wins out by far but I'm starting to come round to the 777-300 as being an equally beautiful thing! . Collections expanding accordingly!

For me trijets and 747s as they become more rare. I found a picture of PH-KCD "Florence nightingale"
