Cool looking display of CX birds; I had to switch gears and let go of some of my CX models; keeping the airframes that I've flown on with Cathay and some special liveries. Thumbs up you collect CX and KLM!

A very good friend of mine collects KLM, and he's got every single one that has been released and has some duplicates of some models as well! Cheers! T7

Damn!! That's a huge stash of 1/200 models you have there! My jaw dropped with viewing the photo. Could take a while to pick out the sweet birds from CX and KLM. Cheers! T7

Oh, the little kids game = I spy with my little eye, something that is dark grey in color and square and to the upper left of the photo.

Took a while to acquire them all, there's 6 of them. Ones not with the others.

While very impressive, that's clearly just a display of boxes you can find in any hobby retailer storage area. Act fast ,take a break from collecting & get a display cabinet or two or three, and un pack and enjoy your models every day when you feel like. We are here for a good time not a long time.
Just saying. While th collecting thrill is great, enjoying them is even better

Cheers Steve

+1, but if they are still in the boxes then there is no need to constantly nitpick the faults since you can't see them.

Oh, boxes are not off limits to 'nitpicking'. Yes, I think I can recall there were some past threads on the DAC of model boxes being critiqued as well! Nothing is safe when associated with the model. Cheers! T7

Holy smokes, thats a big pile of birds right there! Dare I say when they are all on display you will have one of the grandest 1:200 747 collections going!! The BA 'Pride' 747 you seek is probably the rarest model 747 out there, I think only 15 were made? Alas, a custom would not be too hard to make, just take a standard IF200 Union Flag 747, paint the nose and winglets gold, change the reg. to G-BNLD and voila, you have your Pride

Couldn't agree with you more Steve. I ordered some custom cabinets and they are at the shop about to be stained and then have the glass added. Two of them about 7 ft tall and 5 feet wide. Should hold well over 100 models each. Can't wait to get them on display. Including a certain Concorde you sold me.

Awesome looking and impressive display case you had made!! I have plans in the works for an all glass display case. Just waiting for the 2 kids to get a little older, before I make the move with the all glass. Cheers! T7

Impressive!

Steve,

You are correct. In time, I shall have the man-cave - my fortress of solitude by which to sit back and admire the open, on-display one or two I will rotate through the boxes; researching them and enjoying them that much more.

I get the Emirates birds from GJ almost BECAUSE of the boxes.

I hear ya. Gemini does fantastic art work on their model boxes. I do believe that if a collector throws out the model box, they could have a tough/challenging time to sell that model, and will take a hit on the resale value of the model. You agree? Cheers! T7

With more than 850++ diecast 1:200 airline models in their boxes counting 80 747's, close to 100 B737's, fleet collector of American Airlines (38 models) ANA (34 models), BA (30 models), Cathay (33 models), Olympic(38 models), Korean (17 models), Swissair (37 models) Singapore (23 models) plus many more, 900 Corgis of various scales on display and 1850 Construction Models in 1:50 scale on display DEFINITELY there is no space at my house.

Regards Modestos.

P. S. If you need few pictures just ask!!!!

But of course, any thing from the smallest up to the World's larger model weights 115 kgs in 2 huge boxes with dimensions of 1.60 height and 2.80 metres long ( paymasters were made in bi monthly payments of $1.999 each). .....only 44 were made. Go to Bucyrus 8750 made from TWH. Every body is welcome to visit.
