I agree with you on that one! I've been fortunate enough to see the spectacular "Northern Lights / Aurora borealis", from living in Northern Ontario, Lake Superior. Cheers! T7

I hadn't read that. Interesting! I still wish they had used a different registration number, though. Makes me wonder if GJ and Phoenix use the same factory which would explain why the GJ release has the same registration number if the factory in China is responsible for deciding the registration number.

Strange, mine was fine for some reason!

Yep, I was a bit baffled by his statement on Gemini Jets not knowing what the model would look like until it came off the production line (after the fact). You figure Gemini would give them (factory in China) their specific requirements on what to 'specifically' produce for their April release. However, it really makes sense to me this actually goes on!!

Wow, that is a long time! I think waiting 11 months for the Gemini 737-800 WestJet in 200 was long enough. Compared to 10 years!

They need to put for viarety into their monthly releases, like they always do at least 4 American things every month, need something more Canadian or something from around the world.

I'm sure they make what they think they can sell or are commissioned to make. That's why there are 12 Emirates models in 1:200 and 30 or so in 1:400 despite Emirates only operating 3 (soon to be 2) types of aircraft. It also seems like recently (at least in 1:200) gemini has been making almost all current livery or special livery planes and that JC Wings, Inflight, BBOX, and JFox models are the throwbacks.

Not a lot of Canadian options out there, westjet has a pretty limited fleet and they have already made models out of most of it. I would guess they might make some new AC models in the next year or so, maybe 737MAXs. There haven't been any Air Transat models in 1:200 from Gemini.

I would appreciate some Air Berlin models myself

So basically there is about one EK A380 each month. Unless you love the A380 and you are Emirate's biggest fan and you are a millionaire, you will keep buying up all the A380s.

I hope they will soon release a WestJet 737-600, a new 737-800 as you all know, and maybe even the 757 that they leased! Also maybe they make a 737-200 mold in 200 and put the WestJet on it!

Hope they will also make these ACs:

The 737MAX when they take delivery in around 2017-2018
767-300
787-9/787-8 with better engines and better colours
A320 with better colours and...
Q400 with AC express

If Gemini200 is reading this, I hope they will remember this to make these one day soon that is NOT 10 years from now.

I just purchased the Gemini Delta Widget 757-200 $350.00 plus s/h keep watch on ebay and have credit card ready.. Be careful according to my local hobby ship the entire run of that model G2DAL061 had paint issues on the wings bumps under the paint.

The new Delta scheme just released Airbus 319 model G2DAL441 I just picked it up today $69.99

I also have the Airbus A320 Flight #1549 Gemini Model G2USA183, I paid $125 for this model which according to many collector on DA.C is a bit high.. This model comes with a plastic data card (official Certificate) stating that this model is #0433 of 1549 models produced.. Would be great if Gemini did this for all model releases in 1:200 scale

One more thing Inflight released a model to honor the passengers and crew of TWA Flight 800.. Very few of these models so if you want one act fast.. My local Hobby Store has one in stock.. MTS Hobby shop

Really glad I saw this as I almost purchased the Phoenix Virgin A340-600 but will definitely now hold out for the Gemini one. I wasn't crazy about the idea of not being able to remove the landing gear on the Phoenix one.

I'm happy it's the new Virgin livery. The previous one was nice but the current one has really grown on me and I now prefer it, especially the "Virgin Atlantic" font.

Wish the new Gemini A320 fix heavy tail and paint bubble on the wing. And stop using turning nose landing gear, broken so easily.

That's cool you've grown on the Euro White livery. Since you are a fan of the livery, why not have some fun with the Quiz below; winner gets a 1/400 model:

Wow, that's a lot of money you spent on this model, funny how this model was only worth $60 when it first came out... Unfortunately mine suffered from Zinc rot but it's definitely a very beautiful bird to have in your collection!!

looks pearly. Gemini posted pics of the models on their facebook page today. They posted a pic of the hekla, although it is a 1/400 model . The paint job is less than stellar on the model they did show, looks like amateur hour trying to match the actual aircraft.

Agree the VS A340 looks great. The Icelandair 757 however, I don't know if it's just the pictures but somehow it doesn't capture the look of the real jet.

Paint job on the Icelandair looks a little dodgy to me...not enough transparency to pull off the real scheme...laid on a little to heavy. I'll wait until some other pics are up before committing I think.

Here's a photo of the Virgin. Looks pearl to me. As to the Hekla, I'm wondering why they haven't posted a photo of it in 1:200 scale. I know you guys are not impressed with the 1:400 version, but perhaps GJ will pull it off better in larger scale.

I think it has the new engines, at least I can see the thrust reverse lines on them, like this one:

I think the paint-job on the ICE 752 looks pretty good considering the complexity of that scheme.

Someone with better knowledge of the manufacturing process will likely know better that me... I wonder if that livery is tampo-printed like the windows, doors, logos and registration?

I don't collect ICE but I might get this one because its so unique.

Yeah, that Virgin A340 looks great! Also like the C-17 too!
I've never seen the Icelandair 757 before so can't comment on accuracy, but it sure looks colorful.

The aurora borealis seems difficult to pull off. Compare the 1:1 vs. the Gemini 200 photo release. The print on the top of the plane looks quite a bit different.

I don't collect ICE but I might get this one because its so unique.
I agree...I think it looks pretty good...you know that one couldn't be easy to do in the first place. Plus....we are seeing it from an odd angle, so that could why it looks off to some.

arI am very pleased with the Atlas 748, Icelandair and the Virgin A340.

Gemini could go and build a 1:1 scale model of a real plane and it could be as perfect as possible and there would still be the "nitpickers" who would have nothing better to do and tear it apart with criticism

FYI: Every hobby comes with nitpickers it comes with the territory; Model aviation collecting be it 1/400 or 1/200 is no exception. This hobby will always have their fair share of nitpickers (some more than others). I have also nitpicked on this forum and I am not ashamed of doing so. That's what a forum's intended purpose / objective is to provide a place where collectors can share/enlighten/critique/compliment models that are released by the manufacturers. Every collector benefits IMO when "everything" is laid out in the open. Just look at all the threads on Charlie Alpha and Tonka; they've done a great service/favor to the collectors IMO.

I don't post my 1/200 or 1/400 models much anymore on the DAC, there have been other DAC collectors/members that have stepped in to provide spectacular photos of the models. Which I enjoy viewing. I thought I can sit back and relax and not have to spend hours on end taking photos. I didn't mind the criticism posted about any model I shared, I welcomed it in fact. It comes with the territory and reality of this hobby, we are all 'Adults' and can conduct ourselves accordingly. So, please nitpick away.

Cheers! T7

It does not look as sharp as the 1:1 for sure. Those color flows are propably too hard to print. I am hesitating to place my order.

Yep, based on the photo/lighting of the picture = it does look a tad dull in color. But, as we all have come across in this hobby = sometimes pictures don't do the real model justice.

The Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis always has a special place in my childhood memories from growing up in Northern Ontario and viewing them during the frigid winter nights. I am going to have to share these spectacular night shows that Mother Nature puts on with my family next year. Cheers! T7

I'm wondering why JetBlue and or Gemini choose to do the same tail design as the A320 release? I wish they would have choose to do another design. Ooh well.

I do hope that Gemini will do the first Airbus built in the US now being delivered to Jet Blue!

I completely agree with you, I really thought that they would have done a different tail design from the A320 that was recently released. I hope to see Mosaic on an E-190 in the future personally.

Why did Virgin Atlantic feel the need to"update" their livery? I like the mid-2000's version much better. Going to pass on the A346 until Gemini gets the ok from VA to do the classier livery.

Atlas 747-8F for me. Interested in the LH 777F, too, but will wait to see additional photos. Something about the nose looks off to me, but hoping it's just the camera angle.
