Default Gemini April 2016 1/200 hints...

Hello. Spring is arriving in the North, Fall in the South. Time for the hints for the April 16 Gemini releases. This month we will have 16 releases, 7 in 1/200 scale, 9 in 1/400 scale.

1/200
#1) A river has been named, sometimes it turns green, there has not yet been one like this 17.
#2) The future is coming, this one is it, Its so unfortunate that a trijet must sit.
#3) A Giant is coming this one is true, it looks great while sporting shades of dark blue.
#4) If you saw the old hint, you know what it will be, the only thing better was if it came on a 753.
#5) Everything is better with blue bonnet on it.
#6) A medium mainstay, this always is true, do you think it would look better if they removed the globe and the blue?
#7) Is she still considered a lady if shes miss behaving?

Yes, definitely. I was hoping for it in 1/400 but 1/200 will look nice in my cabinet for sure

I know my guess on this one is probably wrong given GJ doesn't have an A346 mould, but I'm wondering if MAYBE it could be Virgin Atlantic A346 G-VWKD "Miss Behavin'."

I was thinking BA, but I wonder if it's the leaked 748 cargo.

Please say it is so. Been waiting waaayyy too long for this model. I wont hold my breathe though as it could probably be something United as well.

The Chicago River turns green every year, but United doesn't have 717s. Hmm.

If it is a TWA then I'm guessing by the globe and the blue comment that they would be talking about the final scheme which would be consistent with their fascination of releasing the least popular of all the TWA schemes.

Doesn't really look like there is anything for this month. Was hoping for a re-release of the WestJet 737-800 1/200. Nothing Canadian either. Boo hoo.

I highly doubt that Gemini will re-release the 737-800 in 1:200.

Anyways, in regards to the questions

I am hoping the last one is the Virgin Atlantic A346

I emailed them about if they can make the WestJet 767 in 1/200 and it worked!

I think the last one is the Virgin Atlantic A340-600 too.

They hadn't previously done the 767 in 1/200 though. I think the only way you'll see another WestJet 737-800 done by Gemini will be in the case of a new livery, a deal with Disney, or if WestJet commissions it. The only other option might be the Care-antee special livery which is now the Disney Magic Plane.

Yeah I don't know, but the fact it says "if they removed" the globe and blue which would make me think twin stripe. Not only that but Jet-x has already released the latest scheme TWA MD80...I will take whatever I can get though as I'm not a fan of that Jet-x MD80 at all.

Maybe the Frozen livery? The #100 737NG will be even better!

Yes, I've been tempted to buy the Wings of Pride livery but I've read what others have stated about the Jet-X MD-80.

Jet-X MD-80/90 mound is same as Gemini.

Jet-X did do TWA MD-80 final scheme Wings of Pride and regular final scheme release MD-80 as well. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Gemini released a new one. But, could it be a TWA 717?

Not true. 2 different companies, 2 different molds The main difference is the Jet-X MD-80/90 mold had longer main landing gear making the model sit nose low instead of lever. Discussion of the mold at the time called it the 'dragster effect' due to the noticeable nose down stance. There are other differences as well.

A remake of the TWA final scheme would be good for those of us who don't want our MD-80/90s to look like dragsters. A 717 would too, although I would rather see a Delta 2007 livery 717 released first.

Could've fooled me! I have an MD-80 from Jet-X and Gemini. Side by side they are the same.

Either way a TWA MD-80 or 717 would be great!

I've been asking for a TWA MD-80 for ages from Gemini, it seems. I don't even care what livery it is, just let me have it!

Yeah, I agree. There was only the Magic in 400 that was released years ago. The #100 plane will be so good!

I'll preface this by saying I am almost always wrong. Not only am I wrong, but I am usually so far off, it's embarrassing.

#1) Aer Lingus A330-300, EI-ELA, name St. Patrick, 17 is March 17th, St Patricks Day.

They are different molds. That is why all the negative comments about the Jet-X MD-80 mold, and why some are wishing for a Gemini model to replace them.

Would be wonderful if that was the case, but G-VWKD wears the old livery and I doubt they would release that scheme first (if at all).

If Gemini releases this sweetie, then I will step outside of my collecting criteria and scoop it up ASAP! I had the skymarks 1/200 plastic and 1/400 gemini and parted ways with both. Hoping they would make a 1/200 diecast of it. Cheers! T7

Gemini will probably do the 738MAX, once Westjet takes delivery

Not for a while. I do expect a 737 with the scimitars, but not this month.

I know, but I'd sure LOVE to have that livery!! I keep hoping we'll see a 747 model of it soon.

This is one time I hope you are right! Unfortunately I'm afraid neither one of us will get this one made quite yet... Somebody is going to do it eventually!

I hear ya! Let's see if Gemini 200 will roll out both versions of the VA A340-600 for us! (hoping they do the silver metallic livery first, hee hee! )

I saw that arrive when I was settling down for the evening at Hong Kong's airport a few years back, pulled right up to my window! It was right after I sold 1/200 and 1/400 versions of the sweet bird. I think it was sending me a message = I am back! That evening I wished to the collecting gods/higher ups that this be available in 1/200 diecast one day. Well, took about 4 years to come true. Cheers! T7

This could be a Delta 717.

#1) A river has been named, sometimes it turns green, there has not yet been one like this 17.

Definition of a Delta (Wikipedia)
- A river delta is a landform that forms from deposition of sediment carried by a river as the flow leaves its mouth and enters slower-moving or standing water.

Yes, that was my guess too. I used to live in a town called Delta that was at a river mouth, so that made my guess pretty easy.

Ehh? Really? I have both and IMO they aren't even close! Unless something has changed on more recent ones, but the jet-x model is not that nice. The two parts that kill the jet-x for me is the terrible tail. The top section does not look right. And the main landing gear are ridiculously long...among some other things.
