Default New JC Wings B777 | EVA Air | Beauty

I received 2x of the new mold 777-300ER's from JC Wings, and I have to say I'm impressed! The model is an excellent representation of the real model, and looks much better than the previous versions.

The only slight cons (which don't really bother me):
- Fan blades on Inflight seem more detailed
- No APU indent hole
- Engines from head on view look a bit sloped downwards

Overall, the engines look huge which is what we want, and the landing gears are detailed and solid!

Here are some quick photos in bad light:

Not really. It isn't a war, and we all really (or at least most of us) want the best model that we can get for our money. Some (a very few) are happy with just about anything a manufacturer coughs out. Now on to the model.

I think it looks good! I really like the new gear and they are definitely an upgrade to the previous ones, even though the actuator on the fromt of the strut is over-sized.. The rest of the model is standard JCW 777, which is pretty good, with 2 exceptions. I don't have the Eva on pre-order, but I do have the ANZ 'All Blacks" on pre-order and should have it by Monday, so I'll see the model and new engine mold for myself.

2 things I wish JCW would change, and only 2 things that I bet other people barely notice. The new pylons still place the engines too low in relation to the leading edge of the wing wing, and I still think the forward part of the engine tapers a little too much giving the impression of a smaller engine than it really is, and also slopes downward too much. Simply put, front of the engine cowl is too small, back is too big, and the whole engine is too low and slants down in the front.

The other thing is the nose. The tip of the nose should be slightly lower. Again, not a big deal to most people who don't care or are not really familiar with the 777. Most Boeings up until the 757 has a nose when viewed from the side that was roughly mid point up the fuselage. Since the 757, ALL Boeings have a nose who's center point is lower. On the 777, the tip of the nose should be level with the bottom of the doors when viewed from the side with the door and window printing in the right place. JCW has the nose on their 777-300ER mold too high, and that gives the nose a a funny, non-777 appearance to me. Again, I'm sure most will not notice or will not care.

My comments should not come as a big surprise. You can check all of my previous posts on the 777. For me, it has always been about nose and engine. The rest of the model looks very nice.

Remove the nose landing gear, if engine touch ground, something is wrong.

The engine clearance is fine, far from dragging om the ground.

The same lame comments about members and not models from the same peanut gallery.

If you guys had anything constructive to say about the model, it would be a different story. But that is obviously not the case.

The purpose of this forum is to to critique and discuss models, not other members. In the last several posts, I don't remember either of you making any constrictive comments or critique about the model other than "I like it". But you always seem ready with flip comments about other members. This is round 2 or 3 of the same kind of stuff from both of you.

Sorry, but what ever the results, both your posts have been reported to the moderators.

Yup, that may be true but the engines are still not up where they should be. And the front does slant downward at a strange angle, as you have noticed.

This still won't keep me from buying a livery that I want, but I feel JCW missed the chance to do something really special with this model and didn't do it. The gear is really nice. The rest of the model just standard JCW, which still isn't bad.
