I was thinking that also, but if you compare the first pic with the one below, it doesn't look like it in those pics.

Which of these 2 models looks like battleship 777?

If I had to pick one, I would say the ANZ model, but I really don't see much of a difference between the CX and ANZ models. Think it might just be the livery?

Also one must realize that each one of these models is unfortunately sanded by hand. I have the two newish EVA 747s by JC and each have a bit of a different nose even though it is the same mould. A bit bothersome, but just comes with these models. While the nosecones do look a tad different, they arent bad enough to make me say I cannot buy it.

They need to use a lower grit sanding disc to finish these models.
Got a Emirates A380 this week and IT LOOKS LIKE A 9" GRINDER has been to work on it.
JC 787-8f wings have got wood style grain.
A wee bit of fine finishing would not go amiss on these supposedly fine models.

The CX looks the same as the pics Marcus posted to me. Look at the side view. The noses look identical.

My KLM '95 Years' 777-300ER had the same problem. The swirls were particularly bad on the mid upper fuselage.

I'm surprised nobody has made ant comments on the new GE-90 engines and revised pylons yet.

I think it has pretty much all been said, over and over and over and over and over again. Probably to your relief, I'm pretty much done.

I really was just wondering what everyone thought of them now that we have some good pics of the new engines and pylons. I've get the JCW ANZ model on pre-order too, just like many of you.
And I've already written Marcus with my thoughts and wishes for the model.

SO, if you are not afraid of the wrath of Tonka : Happy? Disappointed? Not much change? I may voice my opinion later, or not!

Actually, I'll venture my opinion now.

The ANZ livery was a 'must have' model for me. Overall it looks like JCW did a good job on this model. The new landing gear look GREAT, the nose looks good on the ANZ model. It may just be the livery, but it looks nice.

The only thing that I am going to do with my model is pull the engines and pylons off the wing, sand the pylon down a little so the engine sits a little higher and the fan cowl looks a little more level. I want the top of the pylon just above the level of the wing leading edge and the fan cowling just below the leading edge. Not a big deal. A slight upward rotation of the front of the engine should do the trick. I did the same thing to my 'old mold' JCW 777-300ER engines that were 'keepers' (ie. never going to sell) and I really liked the results.

The rest of the model looks good. I will be happy to have it in my collection.

Agreed. I'm still eyeing those Inflight engine fan blades though... If only they could add those into the JC it will be even better!

If this livery was offered by Inflight, I would probably get that model instead, mainly due to the engines and fan blades, and just file down the top of the pylon to the correct shape. It would be easier to do that than detaching the engines and filing down the top of the pylon to modify the shape.

But for now, the JCW model is the one that is available and is a nice model, and with a little work will fit very nicely into my collection..
