This almost looks good enough to be an air to air photo.

Nicely done.

Good looking model and excellent pic! I notice the polished metal belly looks a bit splotchy. I'm wondering if this is intentional (no doubt the bare metal on the real thing had a non-uniform appearance) or if this is the beginnings of the same type of tarnishing that has afflicted some GJ AA models.

There are four levels of polishing that occur during production, we decided to stop after the third, before it turned to a chrome finish. If you look at our American Airlines MD-11 release you will see that it was polished quite well, it's our personal preference that it look as close to the real thing is possible and not a Condor DC-10 from the early 70s. It is intentionally uneven, but we feel that it captures the look quite nicely.

All three Delta MD-11 arrived at my place today and are awesome (and also very heavy!) my only little tiny, no big deal complaint is the tiny magnets on the gear and the landing gear doors (inflight display) are coming off on some of them and making it a tad difficult. I'm using a dab of glue to stick them back in place so hopefully it holds up. Thanks Charlie and SMA team for a awesome line up and also thanks for not reusing the same reg# GJ200 used.

If it ever comes to it, we have replacement gears and magnets that we can get to you at no cost. Also we are looking into getting magnets that are a lot more powerful. That is been very hard to source as of late, thanks for your patience. I'm so glad that you like our work, thank you so much for your support and will love what we have coming in the next few weeks.

That is great! Indeed much more realism.
