Tca dc-3

Stumbled on this on ARD. One of my 'must haves'.

I have all three of Western Models' Buffalo C-46 models and I'm very happy with them. They do beautiful work.

Judging by the price and the engine details, this would be the "other" UK Western Models I think.

This mould is not a new one, it's the Old Western Models.
A very good one.
I attach a picture of my AF DC 3.
Note : The AF DC 3s were equipped with new engine cowlings and landing gear doors to gain a few knots.

Yes, a nice colour scheme and application. Am surprised that the new WM have re-done the Dak after seeing the market flooded with Herpas, Hogans, Geminis and Hobbymasters. Saying that, their model is still one of the better ones. But that price is hefty. It's getting close to a 747 which is at least hefty in another way. Funny how the WM Li-2 is almost half the price.

Thanks Jean Pierre for info & pic. Never realised that the WM Air France Dak had the gear doors fitted. Funny how they bothered with this extra detail but didn't do a cargo door decal.

Argosy LOL

Air France had more than 100 DC 3s.
Some of them were C 47s, C 53Ds, DC 3Ds or DC 3Cs.

Here is a picture of a C 47 with modified engine cowlings and gear doors.

You are right, the cargo door is missing on my model.

Re: Tca dc-3

Judging by the number and different variants Air France had no wonder WM had issues with the type of door decal needed!

It just so happened the one they chose was a "Postie". They did the same thing with their Lufthansa one! Seems they only did passenger doors.
