In fact, I don't know much about this last flight.
It will take place on 14 January, the aircraft will leave CDG at 11.30 for a circuit over France.
I don't know its registration, will the aircraft have a special livery ? I don't know.

On Monday I'll try to have more information from the AF museum.

Yes it would be great to have a model of this plane in my cabinet …

The first B 747-400 was received in 1988.

Socatec has released this model to commemorate the last commercial passenger flight of the 747 with Air France!

Thank you my friend for these pictures

I have never been impressed by Socatec products.

AF logo wrongly positioned on the engine nacelles and no European flag on the fin.
One more Socatec model that I will never buy.

And I am sure that this model was validated by the "experts" of the AF museum, what a shame !

JC Wings please …

The EU flag is on the fin, maybe that was just a bad photo...heres a closer shot!

Port side engines and stbd no.3...seems its just the no.4 engine with the misaligned AF logo?

Thanks Andy, I apologize, you are right, the European flag IS on the fin but I still think that the AF logo on engine 4 is wrongly positioned.

Another problem of Quality Control.

Too bad …

No worries Jean Pierre, the stars aren't exactly high viz, probably slightly smaller than they should be. As for no.4 engine, there's no disputing that...the outboard symbol is too low...

As for JCW, I'd like to see an Air France pax 747 in the last livery, maybe also an Air France Asie 744. I also like the AF Cargo 742 with the large pelican logo on the hull (last livery) and reflective CF6s, so any of those would be most welcome.

Last flight was made last night, the route was Mexico City-Paris.

And the registration of the aircraft was F-GITJ, not the the one used for the Socatec model. So, I guess a farewell model will be announced soon.

Thank you for this picture that brings back a lot of memories.
Some years ago I was a regular visitor at MEX and my last flight was precisely a MEX-CDG with a B 747-400, almost thirteen years ago.
It was yesterday …

I confirm that the last commercial flight was made by the F-GITJ, I have seen a video showing the arrival of the plane at CDG.
And the photo published by Erik shows its landing on runway 05 (L or R I can't tell) at MEX.

I don't know much about this farewell flight.

In fact there will be two, the first one will take off on January 15 at 9 pm and the second at 11.30 PM.
The flight will last about two hours, I managed to find a map showing the different "waypoints".

Unfortunately, the aircraft will fly very high … 10 000 m … 33 000 feet.
Flying over Normandy beaches at 2 000 feet would have been very nice (I live there).

That's what the L 1649 did in 1957 when it was delivered to Air France.

Jean Pierre.
