Default Air France and KLM 747-400s

A lot of airlines seem to be going down the 'eurowhite' route to the displease of many enthusiasts around the world. The airline that started it all, Air France, is exempted from this dissapointent, at least in my view, partly for being the original but also for having one of the simplest and classiest liveries to grace an airliner and nothing shows it off better than the 747. This Inflight example graced with the facelift livery looks nothing short of excellent.

The Herpa Premium KLM 747-400 in early 90s scheme with the 'KLM Northwest' Partnership needs no introduction. This came to me purely out of luck, netted her for not much more than cost price on eBay a few weeks back, such was the price, a thread was started highlighting the fact! Nonetheless, to shush the 'too good to be true' crowd, this example is perfect, no flaws whatsoever!

My photos don't do the birds justice but I hope you enjoy them all the same.

I also agree with your comment about the eurowhite airplanes (include JAL here too!). And I also agree Air France is the exception, I love my AF Concorde in its simple yet striking scheme.

Nicely done with the KLM. Congratulations. I like the Air France livery, they just need to work on keeping them clean.

Thanks again, yeah, the KLM really is something to behold. My photos don't do the detailing of this model justice. If only I could get Erik (Yogurtlite) or Rui (retroguy) to photograph my models!
Too true about the Air France cleanliness, I've ridden on a pretty dirty AF Jumbo from Tokyo once upon a time!

Nice models Andy, I love the KLM livery's and I agree although the white livery's can look a bit bland, the Air France is the exception!

Is it a coincidence that you're posting photos of a model of an Air France 747 when the airline is retiring the 747 and the final flight is scheduled for January 10?

I'm very jealous of that Herpa premium 747-400 in the old KLM colors! Looks great!
