Oh heck yeah! Welcome to LAX. Another must have. The A380 fleet will be complete with every single A380 operator. Marcus...you guys should consider re-releasing the China Southern A380 in 1:200. Congrats!

Probably never because you're the only one who's bitching so hard about this minor issue of an otherwise excellent mold.

This would be the last release of all the A380 airline customers in 1:200 diecast covered. A very nice release JC

In this case, you should seeing the wings... If the body is clean, there are some tinies mistakes. Go to Airliners.net, and try to find them...

A great release, especially for the A380 fans! I have only one A380 in my collection (BA), which is enough for me but if I were ever to add any more, this and the Malaysian would be neck and neck second best.

Thats what I thought...this is the only A380 not done in 1/200 Diecast up to this point.

I guess from now on we will just see models with different variations of current airlines.

Maybe it will be re-released at some point. That was a special air show release for China when it was first done.

Leslie,
A 1:1 A380 has a total of 3 million rivets. This JCW's seems to be shy of that mark by 26 if my counting is correct. C'mon people, just enjoy the hobby.I'm with you, I see nothing on this model that would keep me from adding it to my collection if it met my criteria.

DON'T EVEN ASK...just gives the "rivet counters" a chance to complain. Like they needed a reason. I agree...the mould looks AWESOME to me! And now that this model is done all of the current A380 operators have been done.

lloks like you never saw a a380 pic or one in person.

the APU is way too big, resulting in the need of a fuselage retooling.
and the main gear is mounted wrong (see previous thread).

the BEST is the Hogan EX-Herpa mould.

look at this pic (particular the part where the APU is located), compare it to the JC model and you should know what i am talking about.

this is the only part which is more accurate on the Eagle mould.
this is not only nitpicking, the rear fuselage is completely misshaped on the GJ/JC mould - i have got the SIA A380 by JC and that was the only one.
and i also have got the HG Thai and Asiana. the Asiana might have the wrong white color shade, but this is a minor issue imo.
who cares about colors, if the mould has got serious issues which require a major retooling.
the best would be if HG turns their A380 mould into metal diecast (as i don't see JC solving this issue). you might miss some detail on that mould, but from time to time i tend to
believe that HG pays more attention to the moulds accuracy.
like they did with their A320 mould (which btw is better than the GJ200 imho)

I just enjoy the hobby buddy. If I see something wrong with the mold or livery I fix it. There's where you need to put all the effort. Instead of complaining I just make or customize one that pleases me. Talent!

you can bet i enjoy the hobby, but even IF i was talented in that way, i wouldn't buy a model where i have have to fix such a complex issue like a whole fuselage. this is not customizing, this is manufacturing. and that should be the MANUFACTURERs job, not mine.

btw it is pretty odd that you are allowed to criticize the JCW 77W but not their A380. maybe Inflight comes with an A380 one day aswell!
if they do i would LMFAO if people start nitpicking about the JCW counterpart (because IF200 offers the better mould) - like it happened with the 77W.

don't misunderstand me, talent is a good thing, and i envy you for your skills, but we are buying fully assembled models and not kits. if i had to retool these models myself i would switch to Revell or Hasegawa.

you got paint and decals....what else do you need for a new paintjob? i think it'll get a little more complicated when you are retooling the fuselage (+ you have to do a paintjob after the retooling).

i get , and fully understand that the jcw a380 mould is really accurate and the best in 1:200 as of today.
however, seeing that criticizing of the 777-300er models are allowed, even up to the smallest of details, then i dont see why the same cant be done for the jcw a380 mould.
most of the a380 mould is really good, and i can accept the APU shape and size, but im really particular with landing gears of all my models. to me the accuracy of the landing gears are the final touch and are what differentiates a toy, from an adult scale model that i paid a fortune for.
as for this jcw a380 mould, 3 things need to be addressed:
1. positioning of the MLG
2. shape of the wings (lack of the iconic curve on the posterior edge of the wings)
3. shape of the APU

however, as i mentioned before, the positioning of the MLGs is the one thats most glaring to me. if im not mistaken, marcus wong did say jcwings would look into that some time ago but i still see no change.

i do own a jcwings MAS a380 and it still is the crown jewel of my collection :-D

the problem with the APU is that it is a result of a wrong shaped fuselage.

That are absolutely minor issues. Nobody with a certain amount of common sense would care about them the way you do as the overall shape is a near perfect representation of the original and reworking the mould certainly isn't going to happen, as it is extremely expensive to a degree, where it isn't economical justifiable anymore.

they may be minor to you, but not minor to everybody.
for example, for the 773er mould. their issues are minor to me. but i dont complain that other collectors are conplaining and criticizing that mould. why ? because ultimately if the manufacturer does correct them 'minor' issues, i would still benefit by getting a model that is just that little bit closer to the 1:1.

I suppose it is cheaper to rework the engine/pylon moulds compared to a fuselage mould

not exactly. they also complain about the shape of the nose of the JCW . now thats not necessarily a bad thing bcause soon enough jcwings will release a new 777 mould that doesnt just modify the engine and pylons but also the shape of the nose.

My problem with SOME of my A380s is the sanding of the nose.
Several (viewed in certain light) look like Fred Flintstone has been chipping away on it with a club and chisel ! - the worst one being my SIA "F1"
