Default Gemini200 British 787-9 Nose Hump

Received my first British Airways model and was generally please with it until I noticed it had see-through beacon jewels and the nose shape has some kind of hump on it as well. Anyone else have this problem?

What is wrong with the beacon jewels?

They aren't red like other models but white/see-through colored.
It turns out the actual thing shows as being that color too except when the beacon actually flashes.

I would return the model if it were me. All I would see every time I looked at the model would be the hump.

BTW, how is the engine clearance on this model?

Apparently all the other ones in store are the same so it is a general defect. The engine clearance seems to still be very low.

That's too bad. It is such a shame because the basic mold is so good, too good to be ruined by small things like this.

It is really sad because the engine fix at the factory would be very easy. The engine and pylon shape is already good. The slot in the wing needs to be slightly bigger and the pylon just needs to be seated all the way into the slot. Problem solved.

Yeah Gemini couldn't care less
Same with the Air Canada color, they know it's wrong but they only count the income from the sales.

So, would the Phoenix version be a better option?

I would say no as the PHX version is even worse looking. Gemini's is still better despite these annoying flaws.

Honestly...I don't see that this is a big problem. It's barely noticeable.

I have this one coming, should be here in the next week.

Pics here look fine. http://www.wafflecollectibles.com/12...00_g-zbka.html

Mine arrived yesterday and it looks fine.
Agree about the engine clearance though.

Here's one collector that won't be getting Gemini's Air Canada one, mainly because of their complacent attitude. I will (and can) wait for someone else to do it properly.

Sorry to hear of the BA issues.

I don't see any unwanted humps in those waffle pics either...though the engine ground clearance does seem very very small in those pics. I have the Gemini 787-8 and the engines are ok on this one:

I will just have to see other peoples pictures when this one is out I guess.

Discussing about ground clearance …
I know my document is for a B 787-8 but the -9 shouldn't be much different.

Hi Jan don't now if this will help. I have only one 787-9 in my collection. I expect you are after fellow collectors that have the BA 787-9. I have only one 787-9. The pictures that focus on your valid concers are of the engine ground clearance and of the cockpit.
