Thumbs up JC Wings KLM MD-11 "Farewell"

I don't know if my pictures are making the honor to this model but I have to say it is definitely a stunner.

JC Wings
McDonnell Douglas
MD-11
KLM
PH-KCD
"Florence Nightingale"
Farewell MD-11

As a complement for this collectible, a flight log from one the farewell flights.

Flying KLM?s MD-11 Farewell Flight - Airchive

And the status of the aircraft in the early 2015, sad picture.

I have this t0o, will keep it forever. I hope JC wings can make MD-11 better:
1. use real ram air intake instead of just drawing the line. Your Fokker-100 even has it despite much smaller size
2. the gap above the exhaust of No.2 engine.

That is such a nice model! I love how KLM did the DC-2, DC-3, .... thing. Too bad MD-11's aren't as common...

Congratulations! Isn't it a great model? I decided to buy the "95" version instead, mainly because I liked the aircraft name better. Very well done.

I also have a correction, just to make things clear. When I said KCD is "sold out" what I should have said it's sold out from the JC warehouse. Not for stores that still may have this model available, and no I am not paying 60.00+ plus for shipping to AUS

I decided at the last minute not to pre-order this KLM MD-11 'Farewell' model & now I regret my mistake...

I won't let it happen again with the new IF 200 KLM 747-300 that just came out!!

Wawful does not have KCD, he has KCE. As does diecastairplane. Adamjets has KCD, but he wants $140 for it.

the MD-11 body width is 6m, with 1/200, should be 30mm, but I measured 28mm. Can someone do a measurement to confirm?

You know you will have someone comment about the use of "cm" in your answer. Think you were looking for "mm". Just busting your chops in the AM, coffee in hand....

ALCON,

I managed to find one of the last copies of this aircraft at AdamJets in Florida. They have two left in stock according to their website.

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

I've heard the model count at the factory and at distributors is 0. Only retailers have them (IF they are not sold out).

Jetways
Jet Collector
Waffle
Diecast Airplane
Just Plane Fun

all are not listing this 1:200 aircraft.

I asked Radek at ARD about this models status today, it seems that they are not coming!! Bit gutted to be honest, this was one of my highlights, might have to check adamsjets stateside and see what the cost would be to import one...

Thanks dude, appreciate the offer, I've decided that I'm going to redirect my budget towards the new LH744s that are coming out. Importing from the United States will cost me almost double the retail price of this bird with shipping and import tax added on. I'll be able to get both the LH 747s for not much more!

This is a wonderful model and has so many great memories for me - I will never forget flying on the penultimate MD-11 flight on this bird and getting a window seat because the passenger next to me didn't turn up (the only seat free on the jet)

The exact same thing happened to me Andy, I emailed to see where it was a few weeks back as I saw images appearing online and got the same response. I have been hunting since and found one in Hong Kong with free postage and no custom duty - it arrived today. Although I visited ARD Hillingdon today and I could see five JC KLM MD-11 boxes behind the counter but that goes without saying that they may of been the "95 years scheme".

Cheers ... Ben

Anybody notice the front gear doors have typos on both closed and gear down? It has CB-004 which should be CD-004. CB would be PH-KCB and have CB-002 on the doors.
