Sweet baby jeebus! I didn't realize so many have been produced. I have the JCW 95 Years release and would enjoy having the GJ version.

We have the JCW 95 years one on hold at the moment.

We also have a GJ 1:400 "Maria Montessori"

SO wish that a model was made of the PH-KCA aka Amy Johnson

I had placed an order for the JCW model in the foreground of your photos, but changed the order to the 95 Years version because I liked the aircraft name more.

They are beautiful models.

Very nice collection, you are starting to be as passionate about KLM MD11s as I am about Pan Am 747s!

With regard to the name and reg of your favorite plane, you could contact one of the decal companies, or even perhaps a fellow DAC member and have them make you a couple of decals for a Amy Johnson model. After all, all you are changing is the name and the reg, the rest stays as is. Use a little non-acetone nail polish remover to remove the originals, add the new decals and presto! You have a model of PH-KCA. You would, of course, have to purchase another MD11 as a donor.

Nice line-up Leslie!

I have the same crush for this airframe except that I have my line-up of Lufthansa models. I just realized that the KLM "Farewell" MD-11 is already sold out at asian retailers, I don't know if also with North American vendors the situation has became the same.

Greetings!

I can personally vouch for that! Kinda took me by surprise the first time I met both of them a few years back at the Tim Hortons. I thought they were buying the model I was selling for her husband/father. Very impressed by their passion for collecting 1/200 models.

Great outdoor photos of your KLM models, and I like how you lined them up for that shot. Thank you for sharing them on the forum. Big Thumbs Up to the KLM collectors on the DAC. Cheers! T7

He has decided to get Tattoos instead. NO comment

Opposite at my house.....my wife does not appreciate my passion for "toy airplanes" as she puts it. My 2 sons like them though, my youngest who's is 5 really likes airplanes. I've been buying him some 1/400 models to inspire him. We often go outside and plane spot with the FlightRadar24 app. So much fun!

You are a cool Dad! I must do this more often with my daughter (6 yrs old), she's into planes. But, my son (3 yrs old) will take another 2 more years before I can do the same with him. He's more into diecast cars at the moment!

What I've done is....when I buy from Waffle he usually offers a free 1/400 model with purchase so I just give those to him. Or when he has a sale that you have to buy so many collection sale models I'll give those 1/400's to him. I've also given him some older 1/200 Skymarks models. He's way more into planes than my older son.

Maybe one day he'll have a KLM lineup line this! :-)

I was the same way when I was his age. My dad worked for Ford and he would bring home promotional models for me to play with. As I grew older, I played with Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Corgi Toys, Aurora slot cars. Which then progressed to building 1:25 scale model car kits. But I also built model planes. I didn't start collecting diecast planes until 2003.

Very good way to get him into diecast planes. Great that at least one of your kids will have that passion just like his Dad.

You brought back my childhood memories from Thunder Bay. I would spend all afternoon making roadways in our driveway for my matchbox and hot wheels cars. My father also worked at Canada Car/Hawker Siddely/Bombardier, hee hee! Cool that your father spoiled you with the 'promo' cars!! Do you still have any of those promo cars left? I started back in 2000 with a dragon wings 1/400 model I picked up at the HK airport.

Yup, I started with 1:400, too. But I really wanted 1:200 scale, though the scale wasn't too popular.

The promo models are long gone. I only have photos. (I'm the one sitting wearing cowboy boots, haha!)

That's a great "blast from the past" photo of you and your family! Yep, took me a few years to jump to the 1/200 Dark Side.

Great display of the KLMD-11's.

I had loved that airplane the first time I saw it and was happy to have flown on it four times between ORD and DFW on AA.

I have never flown on the MD11.
When I was little I used to love my little SST cars

Anyone remember those? You would pull a little T stick and the car would go

I had the Smash Up Derby set, with the '57 Ford sedan and '57 Chevy Nomad. Various parts would snap on and when they hit each other, the parts would fly off, just like in a real smash up derby.

Very nice set up and tribute to this beautiful airframe. Really hope that gemini or jc will bring us a delivery PH-KCA/ Amy. . Given the fact that the farewell sells very good maybe we will get one someday!

Enjoy and keep the pics coming!
