No worries, the European Championships in France are ahead, so a new chance for.. Oh..

Seriously, I always also had a sweet spot for Oranje, I think that they are in a transition phasis that Germany also had some years back as Oranje's golden generation with many 30+ players now has to be substituted to come back even stronger..

Hogan models usually do have landing gear. I have a Hogan Korean Air 748 and that came with landing gear.

Yes, you are correct, indeed. It is just most Hogan/Limox Lufthansa models don't come with landing gear. Not sure why.

The biggest issue for me with the plastic Hogan models like this one is the lack of detail. I don't see a single antenna or satellite hump. There is also a lot of missing details on the fuselage. The lack of detail makes these models look more like children's toys, something you would buy at an airport gift shop. Add the lack of landing gear, and the sense of a throwaway bauble is complete.

Now if you added all the missing details (as some talented DAC members have done), you might have a model worth being proud of. Many people argue "but they are so inexpensive, I can't justify the price of a die cast metal model". That's fine, but in this life you get what you pay for.

I can't afford wide-body Gemini200/Diecast metal 1/200 models...

1) Agree with you. However there are Hogan/Limox models that worth very much like the LH B744 D-ABVH "Düsseldorf" 50 years innovation partnership Boeing & Lufthansa. There is a Herpa version but the mold they use for the B744 really sucks, awful mold.

2)About the Siegerflieger Fanhansa, that's why I bought the Herpa version and so far I am quite pleased, just few more details. But not always applies the statement or condition "you get what you paid for". In the example of the 50 years, I think the Hogan is the best in that case and it is cheaper.

Now, I am waiting for the diecast version. Hurry up GEMINI!!!

Yes, the Hogan Lufthansa 50 Years is a great model and one I've been trying to locate. Very difficult to find these days.

Hogan models are fine Daniel. Yes die-cast are better quality but not everyone can afford them. I have mainly die-cast models now but i started out with Hogan and i still display them along with the rest. I think Hogan models are good value and there's quite a lot to choose from too! Enjoy your models. :-)

I agree with Simon. Back when I first started collecting 1:200 the majority of my models were Hogan and Herpa. I had a couple diecast 737s, 747s, and 757s, and numerous diecast 727s. But almost all of the 777s, A330s, and 747s I owned were plastic. I actually prefer plastic vs. diecast due to weight and ease of storage. But what I collect these days isn't available in plastic.

I will be cheering for Germany on the European championsship next year! Live only 10km from the German border so almost feels like home

Ontopic: I had the hogan 748's aswell but didn't like the wing flex as I display the models on their gears. Switched to Herpa and like them very much. But I will be very tempted by the JC one that is coming out soon...

I like the wing flex, but it sometimes seem like it's flexing up way too much!
