Knowing the way Hobby Master makes an MD-11 i can really already decide they will not get my money

But they do make great warbirds and fighter jets.
Can't wait for the new MIG-23's

Hobby Master's airliners are usually a disaster. I'll pass on their airliners and stick to their military models also.

I will not be purchasing this for the same reasons stated by the previous two posts, although I find it a very attractive livery.

I sure hope JC or Gemini release this bird in the future, but seems a bit outside of their box.

If it was Gemini 200 that came out with this MD-11, then perhaps I would be more interested in it but not if it's from HM...

Exactly i trully wonder if they make any profit on these models.
Just like the A310 simply awfull. And the A310 is really a model that is missing in 1/200

Don't get me wrong the are great model makers for the militairy collecters.

Actually, the fuselage is plastic, wings are metal. I am the third buyer, have the klm and the swiss. The hm md11 is not as bad as the a310 btw, wich I also own

I have the AA HB MD11 and definitely not a winner after the GJ landed but they have to make their leaving. Looking forward for the Korean and Saudia MD11's.

Overrated You called that one right excellent observation and comment couldn't agree more.. You know your stuff ..I'd put that hobby master MD11 model up against any Gemini or JC even SMAC any day and clearly they all suck compared to Hobby Master.. Speaking of which I can't seem to find a thread on the November Hobby Master releases.. I guess I'll have to wait patiently ..

He..he..he.....

I love Hobby Masters prop planes, but not really impressed with the A310 and MD-11's. They look very odd to me. Wish this one was on the Gemini/JC mould. Perhaps one day.

I felt so sad when I placed the box with the model back on the shelve. I wanted the Interflug so badly that I almost bought it, I sought for something positive but a side from the words Interflug with logo I couldn't, I just couldn't find it.

Again i like the Fighter jets and warbirds that they make , they are really wonderfull.
It suprises me actually how bad they suck at the Airliners. They look more like toys to me.

To say that the gemini MD-11 version is overated vs the Hobby master is simply childish ranting. The gemini version is simply by far superior.

And if you are really looking for a correct and detailed representation of a MD-11 you will really leave the Hobby Master on the shelve.

I work with MD-11 's daily and i can tell you Hobby Masters MD-11 is not a scale model.
It is a toy.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the JC Wings/Gemini MD11 mold. Cannot get all the models that they make due to finances and room, but I am very happy with the ones I do have

Can hardly wait for the two JC Wings KLM ones.

What amazed me, was that a plastic push fit version that I have, made by either PPC or Wooster, I can't remember which, got both the window height and placement of the 'nose band' spot on! Like you, I was so disappointed with the HM, but I still have my plastic one.

Thanks for compliment, but save the hissy fit. Do yourself a favor and revisit the landing gears, number 2 inlet and inboard slats. What a joke. Good job as usual pushing this junk.

sure i would fully understand that

Look the cockpit windows on the HM are really facing upwards and are of wrong scale.
It almost looks as if oprah sat on the nose of the HM model

Subsidies by the Chinese Govt.
No other manu could afford to keep pushing them out that way.

I've not seen one of their MD-11's but did see an A310 on display in a hobby store.
It was rather feeble to say the least, it suffered from 'over-sized nosewheel' syndrome like their 1/72 Hornet which made it look like it was squatting to take a piss

Every HM Civilian release or are you Brinkley in disguise and mean your collection numbers over 20,000 as you actually have every civilian airliner produced?

If that is the case you are 1) Single, 2) in a monster house, and 3) I would bring the first beer to your house to see that collection.

Dear friends i think that a spend of time ,because HM doesn't care with ours comment,is just to see the thousands comments about the horrible A310 and not have any changes.

I understand everybody has their own opinions but HM makes pretty good quality military aircraft in 1:72 scale... But when where talking about the 1:200 A310 or MD-11 models they came up with, then I'll take a pass on them...

Yes you are right on that...But when will another manufacturer please give us a decent A310???

They are competing with each other on so many types now (even exact same liveries and registrations!!) 747,777,787,A330 and so on

But still no decent A310??? Come on!!
(a few more A300's would be very welcome aswell BTW)
