That is a really stunning model! I've been more of a fan of the standard CPA 748f livery but after seeing this am changing my mind!

Agree with ukranian_falcons - Cargolux please. AND Atlas, and Nippon Cargo. :-)

Beautiful model. Not in my collecting criterea but looks like a GREAT addition to almost everyone's collection. The jeweled landing lights are not a 'make or break' item for me.

So what EXACTLY is wrong with the nose section. Please be specific. It looks just about perfect to me, and we ALL know how picky I can be!!

Looks great, really looking forward to this arrival. I don't see anything wrong with the nose either, and the hump section looks way better than the British Airways Cargo version they previewed a while back.

Yes but the 748F has a different nose section than the 744 PAX. I think the one on this CX model looks quite spot on.

Take a look at photos of the 748F it has a rounder hump because it doesn't need as much room up top where as the -400 PAX is more flat at the front section because of the seating. Same with the -400F, it has a different hump.

i was referring to the NOSE CONE... i have never seen a 747 nosecone which differs from another, maybe except the USAFs awacs...
the EVA 744 has got a much more 747ish cone.... compared to JCs 748 does!

It isn't the nose cone that is different. It is the steeper angle of the nose on the freight 747-8s that matches more closely to the angle of the nose cone. The pax 747s have a shallowed angle to the nose to allow for more pax room so the difference between the slant of the nose and nose cone is more apparent.

I think this nose and the whole model looks fine just as is.

then you have to tell me why JC used the same kind of cone for the 747-8i?
as it is the pax version and should feature the 744 nosecone then.

I think you completely missed the point. Let me say it again, then you can go back and read my last few posts.

The NOSE CONE is the same. It is the SLANT OF THE NOSE itself between the cockpit windows and nose cone that is different, mainly due to the 747F's opening nose that use different jigs to manufacture make it. The freighter uses a different nose because it opens, but not that different.

What EVERYONE is saying, and you seem to be missing is that the angle of the NOSE not the nose cone is slightly different for freight versions of the 747. For a FREIGHT 747, the nose looks spot on.

Take a look at YOUR OWN PICTURE. You can see the difference in the nose angle if you compare the distance between the 2 noses at the cockpit windows and at the nose cone. You can CLEARLY see they are a little different. This model is a good representation of a FREIGHTER 747.

Thank you for making my point for me!!!

Totally agree with EC on this. Model overall looks good, not so much the nose. just like the first few JC 744 releases until they fixed it.

Overall, seems like we all agree this model is good, very good. I just think the nose is too.

i could understand your point if the 748i would feature a different noscone/cockpit shape similar to the 744 - but it doesn't - so it seems your point is in-valid. the cone of the Air China 748i by GJ200 looks exactly like this one.

Whatever dude. If you can't see it, it isn't worth the argument.

EVERYONE else thinks the model looks great by the comments. I agree. You'll be the one missing out.

maybe i am a little nit-picking, but it is a fact that there are existing 3 (!) cones for the 747 mould. now, which one do you think is correct?

So the length of the nose from the front landing gear to the tip of the radome is the same on BOTH superimposed pictures. I don't think so!!!

And that is NOT the only difference. If you can't see the difference in your own pics, I don't think most members will value your analysis of different 747 nose shapes either.

Just saying.

Nuff said. GREAT nose, GREAT model!!

Perfection is not my Forte'.

I love my Plastic version and I love the new Diecast version that will be coming out and plan to get it. I do not need the perfect model, just happy that it is being produced. Wish all could feel this way. But sadly, nope, not going to happen
