Default My Boeing House Colour Collection

Hi Folks, I haven't shared any photos of my collection yet so here's a start. One of the first themes in my collection is aircraft in the modern Boeing corporate livery.

These are all Hogan models - mostly official Boeing merchandise. I have a few more I haven't yet photographed so will add these as I get to them.

I apologise in advance for the inaccuracy of having the undercarriage down in flight. Since I like to display my models gears down, I chose to photograph them in this configuration, rather than in flight, since Hogan gear up doors once installed are notoriously hard to remove without causing damage to the model.

I really hope a manufacturer will release all of these in diecast metal one day!

Very nice, both the models and the photos

Funny enough, I was just thinking of getting the Sunrise and 787 myself from the boeing store. Do both models come with the wooden stand and gears ?

Yep I also love the current Boeing House Colours more so than the Airbus Colours, especially on the 787-9...

I agree with you, I'm surprised die cast manfactuer shy away from the house colors...I own practically all the diecast releases a large portion in still missing. House color should be the basis of a collection since it represents the aircraft as a whole and not just a particular airline

Thanks mate. My Sunrise 748i is the Hogan generic one which doesn't come with the wooden stand. It has the normal grey plastic one. I wish I had got the official one which does! Mine came with gears and I am fairly sure the official one does too.

I had a look at the Boeing Store and couldn't see this model currently on offer so if you want the wooden stand and are buying online, you'll want to make sure it's the Boeing official version and not the generic Hogan one. The box is different as it doesn't have a see-through window but instead a picture of the plane on the front.

Oh, worth mentioning that I've seen that Hogan also offers the Sunrise model as a ground version with non-flexed wings and no stand. I wish that Hogan would offer the non-flexed wings as an option on all of their 747-8 models.

Regardless of which one you get, it's a stunning model!

The version of the 787 on the Boeing Store is the 787-8 which is different to the 787-9 I've photographed. I have the 787-8 too and it comes with a wooden stand (good!) but for some strange and annoying reason, no landing gear (bad!). I ended up buying aftermarket Hogan 787 landing gear for it, but the gear doors need painting to match the aircraft body. I'll post a pic of that when I've shot it.

The 787-9 is a Hogan generic (plastic stand, with gears).

Cheers,
Terence.

Beautiful photos and models! I may be buying the 748 Sunrise today when visiting Museum of Flight, given the manufacturers have decided to ignore it in diecast.

I really wanted to like the Airbus house colours but to me they're a bit bland. The Boeing colours are superb at highlighting the handsome shape of their aircraft!

Can't agree more!

Jealous of you visiting the museum! The model will be a great momento of the day!

If a diecast one is properly released one day it will be a hit for sure!

Yes, can't wait to visit G-BOAG again. Last time I was there, I cried. It was a dream of mine to fly Concorde from JFK to LHR with a 747 on the return. Clearly, that will not happen. But I'm also looking forward to viewing the inside of the 787 on display there now! It is the Museum's golden anniversary and admission is only 50 cents. Quite a deal.

I sure hope they have this model in stock. And as you said, if it's ever released in diecast, it will be a hit. I feel it is one of Boeing's most attractive House Colors liveries.

Hope you had a great time at the museum today KLM4me - seeing Concorde, the 787 prototype and the rest of the collection would be well worth it even at normal admission prices.

Thanks for the info Terence, I was thinking of picking up the two models from the offical boeing store in Sydney, might pay them a visit as I'm just on the other side of Darlingharbour.

Sucks about the 787 not coming with gears but I might display it inflight anyway

I think hogan came out with a wing conversion kit but forgot if it was for the 748i or the 787

Just on the house colours, I'm surprised that any new mould release isn't the house colours first, it seems pretty logical

Looking great Terence nice models and pictures. JC wings did a very small amount of the B747-8I in Sunrise livery but they where way to expensive for me. Can wait to see more of your collection. Thanks for posting mate

Hey, great to meet another Sydney DAC'er! Yeah, I bought quite a few of these planes from that shop. The 787-8 is a really nice model.

I believe the wing conversion kit is for the 787, which might be easier given the number of them with plain white engine nacelles. Not so with the 747-8!

Cheers Steve. Yes, when I saw posts about that model on this forum I was very excited but given the crazily limited run and exorbitant prices, I'll stay with my Hogan for now!
