Looks really good, but the radome isn't painted like the most recent JC 744 releases. Hopefully this can be corrected by the time they hit retailers as the painted radome is an important detail in the 747 that really was a great addition to the most recent models.

These look sharp, especially the VR-HOO bird. I missed out on the very exclusive VR-HOT by IF200 all those years ago. Now though, the wait is over, and I'll be getting a far superior model for less than a quarter of the price. Thank you Marcus!!

Most people do not know that IF200 made an obvious mistake in the old VR-HOT / B-HUI..... the tail was not painted grey.

Now this new JC Wings VR-HOO has a correctly colored tail, and of course, with a more accurate mould.

Would have to see a 90 degrees, perpendicular, side shot of the noise area first.

Why? Do you only buy quiet models?
(sorry, I couldn't resist)

The nose area on JCW 747s since the Qantas Wunala has looked very good, better than the any one else IMHO. I think the models look GREAT!
If I get one , it will be VR-HOO

A true classic scheme. Im quite happy with my old Atlantic Models Cathay 744, also these still need an upgrade on engine pylons #1 and #4, they need reshape and to be made slightly bigger. I also agree that the nose radome line, if not properly done, its better off.

Im not surprised.... one good thing though, with the gear option, and wing flex, is that these are suposed to be displayed " in flight", pardon the pun!

Please please please bring back the radome outlines!!
It was the best thing about the recent 747 models

Can anybody speak with regards to the radome's status? Will we see it again in future liveries or is it gone forever? This was the single largest reason I started buying the new 747 releases again.

Gemini's Qantas 747-400 (Canberra) was the PERFECT 747 model largely because of the radome

We all have our own standards of perfect I guess

I know you're a big inflight guy (the biggest inflight guy!), so I'll also say that the most recent wave of inflight 747s have also been excellent, again largely because of the addition of the radome

I just hope that both JC/Gemini and IF continue to outline the radome because regardless of which mold or livery it is, it hugely helps the look of the model.

The radome printed line in several releases ( Im talking about If) has some flaws, shapewise.
This is a detail that has to be flawlessly printed, both in size ( diameter and line width) and shape.
Unless this is achieved Id rather leave it out. Sometimes as they say, less is more...but Id like those landing lights back. They make sense if made of clear plastic bits instead of printed.

I don't feel sad for JC Wings 747s. However, I feel sad for IF200 747s. While JC Wings had been making the correct color for the wheel hubs since its first 747 release (SQ Tropical), IF200, having produced 1:200 747s for over 10 years, still insist that the wheel hubs are metal silver in color. It is really interesting...

Just got VR-HOO in the mail today, absolutely stunning...love how the jeweled landing lights are back. And sits correctly unlike my SQ tropical with the nose gear off the ground.

It's selling out fast!!! I hadn't planned to get this one, but had a hard time finding one after release... Should have it in a week or so.

EZ Toys and Waffle are already sold out. The shop I called only had one left. Also...the other one ZK-NBS is gone from the distributor. Some shops still have that one, but I'd say it will be gone soon as well.

If you look few years back, the first JC B747-200 released using IF200 mould was 2 models of Cathay Pacific in the Green 80's livery including a Cargo model also. Later IF200 released 2 more 747-300 series in the same livery.

Can anyone share a bit history why there are two different liveries ? It seems the livery on VR-HOO is more popular among collectors. Does that mean the livery of ZK-NBS is transient ?

VR-HOO was a Cathay plane. So it's painted in the Cathay colors.

ZK-NBS was a Air New Zealand plane rented to Cathay. IF you look at it compared to the -HOO model you will notice that the Cathay Pacific logo onto plan is in Air New Zealand font. Also the Swire logo flag is placed where the ANZ flag would go instead of where it normally went on Cathay Pacific models at the nose.

Both mine arrived earlier this week and they look amazing. Extremely well executed releases. I'm probably in the minority here, but I like ZK-NBS a bit more. There is something about that hybrid version that makes it seem cleaner and more elegant.

Why release 2 models that have already been done? Waste of time again...

Looks like the JC factory are out of ideas and that is why they have to copy all the other manufacturers like Phoenix who are growing in strength and size which is great.

I will stick with my Inflight release because I know it will hold its value unlike the JC releases.
