Default QANTAS 747 Quartet!

After finally getting across to ARD to pick up a big old backlog of orders, here's 4 QF jumbo's I had on order, there's a Nalanji to add to the fleet when it comes out...still waiting to see who has the best model, I think it'll be the engines that decide it...I'm hoping for more reflective nacelles than those on this City if Wagga Wagga -300.

On display here are: IF200 City of Canberra, IF200 City of Wagga Wagga, JCW Wanula RR model and JCW All Red 744ER.

3 engine types for comparison:

RB211-524D

RB211-524G

GE CF6-80

Yeah Rui, to be honest, I thought they'd have redesigned the engines to be more like those on the QANTAS 747SP models, but I am so fond of the 747-300 I went for one anyway. I've always liked the less popular -300 and -SP jumbos, I did have my hands on a AV200 Korean Airlines example but sadly it has been lost in the post. The silver lining however is the announcement of the Swissair chocolate version the other day by Inflight, this is one of my fave liveries on the -300!

Fantastic Qantas 4 Andy!

I have the City of Perth and thought one QF in the collection is enough. Till now I'm still able to resist the OJA and Wagga Wagga but it's getting tough...........

Great up close photos of the different engine types. I agree with both you and Rui on the RR RB211's engines. A lot of room for improvement for Inflight there Awesome foursome!
Cheers Steve

Qantas to retire 747-438 before it's 100th birthday (founded 16th November 1920)

The last six are 747-438ER's VH-OEE, VH-OEF, VH-OEG, VH-OEH, VH-OEI, VH-OEJ

All the older RB211-524Ds on the IF200 mould 747s have them (though not on the -SPs which seem to share their engine moulds with those on the Gemini tristars). Not sure why they included these rings in the mould when a less complicated smooth bore mould would have been more accurate and they had a correct mould for the -SP engines anyway?

Not for me, the only special scheme on the ordinary white hull I do like is the Formula 1 release from a little while back. I may get this at some point, but at the moment the only QF jumbo yet to join my fleet will be the IF/JCW Nalanji Dreaming 747-300.
