Default 1:200 Customized ValueJet DC-9-30

Hey everyone, I plan on doing a 1:200 customized DC-9-30 ValueJet model, using Flight Miniatures NorthWest Airlines DC-9-30. I got a little inspiration from B-16707's custom projects , example: His 1:200 ATA 737-800

A 1:200 CargoJet 757-200F is also in the works, using FM's FedEx 757-200F.

I just began spray painting white acrylic paint on both of these, about a week ago. I will post more updates and maybe photos of the progress, but until then, I will buy more materials to finish up.
(Btw, this is my first post!!

There was a guy that did a real nice custom ValuJet DC9 a while back that turned out great, but that was before Gemini released their version.

@JTS97Z28 Yeah, I think I recall seeing something about that.. The reason for me making this model, is because I am a HUGE AirTran fan, and now that they went out of business, I'm kinda ''sad'' they did, so I feel like I need the whole AirTran and ValueJet fleet, as ValueJet became AirTran, and I love both liveries.

@DC-Jets I have a photo of it with coat #1 of white spray paint, I didn't do the belly of it yet, plus if you looked at it closely, you can sort of make out a grayish plastic near the tail, and near where the wings would snap in. So, I'll put a second coat on it, and should be good to go for decals, and then off to detailing the wings. I expect to be done around the end of the month, with landing gear installed and wing corogards decaled. I'm also considering detailing the fuselage of my 1:200 AirTran 737-700, as well as decaling the wings. So stay tuned for that (not), it may take awhile to get the decals, and finish this DC-9. Also, not only is the project fun, but its also inspirational, as I was inspired by B-16707 for this

BTW: Something I didn't put in the original post is that I intend to keep this model snap-fit, because I actually like snap-fits better than diecast, as they are very easy to store with my growing collection, and if a wing falls off, I usually can just snap it back in. I'll post pics of the model tomorrow, so stay tuned!!

@DC-Jets thanks! Yes, it's coming along nicely, hopefully will get the decals next week, as well as the 2nd coat of white paint.

Yes, they did, but I had a spare DC-9-30, and since FM's isn't the best, I ruled pit buying FM's ValuJet. Besides, I think what they sell is the MD-80 of ValuJet.

FM did both the DC-9 and MD-80 in ValuJet. Have both in my collection

Above the progress of the DC-9
This was done with a dremel and some sort of saw like attachment
It was a bit tail heavy.
Sorry for the long leave of absence...

Long story short, I got back into Ships and WWII stuff.. So making kits like full blown kits put everything together then paint got the best of me. Now I have time for both..
So no, the decals did not come yet.. And I did not order them yet. But my biggest priority right now is my custom CargoJet 757-200F.
