This is the cabinet that I am working on. I got the steel rails to hold the planks in middle from lowes hardware store. I like that it can hold model straight. After putting up the rails, I am planning to put long 12"x70" printed background for each of the sections. One can be airport terminal, another could be background that Vandan uses. Also found acrylic glass to go as doors, but still working on finding a nice way to put that up.

Thanks for that EY346. It's a beautiful model. I need to figure out how to put landing gears on that.

Cool collection and nice customs! Just mad looking at how those A380s really dwarf that DC-10...almost looks like a narrowbody in comparison!!!

Very nice job.

Putting a landing gear set on your A 340-600 is not really difficult, you just need time, patience and the right tools.
If you have Dremel rotary tools or the equivalent, it's perfect.

I attach a document showing the ground clearance of the A 340-600, you will need to make a jig to have your model perfectly positioned "above the ground" or you can use a model you already have.

I'm sure you can do that.
Some time ago, I put a landing gear set on a very basic and cheap Flight Miniatures B 747, see document.

Good luck.

Jean Pierre.

PS: MRW means Maximum Ramp Weight

Thanks Jean,

Since they also do models with landing gears, this model comes with groove around the gear bay. Just need to figure out how they have filled up the bay area, and good knife work should take care of that. Thanks and appreciate your tip.

Since the flooding of 1:200 in last 3-4 years, these are some of the ways I keep myself interested in this hobby. Otherwise simply buying and hoarding them in boxes has become so boring. My collection is close to 350 now and it is little sad, that most seat in boxes. Rotating the display helps, but I am planning to get rid of at least 200. The initial euphoria dissolves after 6-8 months on particular model and then it just becomes one of the large collection.

I keep looking here and there. Garuda was from 26decals, and other ones were for Hasegawa kits. Let me know if you need the list of vendors. I have bookmarked all of them.

KLM blue, I built the decals from ground up in photoshop. But the white decal paper is not that good and I am looking for good snow white decal paper. Or I need to prime the window area with white color first. I was trying to avoid painting if I can manage with decal. Draw decal has this color scheme for rest of the area.

..... don't know how I missed this thread earlier - great customs Som ...... particularly the Thai B772 and the ANA wave B773 .......

..... I see that the Garuda A333 you made is now out in metal (made by 1:200 Eagle) .... it'd be nice to see a Garuda A332 released - I have a special corporate A332 but it does not come with gear (just a nice stand in a special corporate box) ......

...... plus I got recently a nice custom made Risesoon 1:200 Sri Lankan A333 that you would like Laviru93doodle .........
