This looks pretty good, I almost bought an all red IF200 a few months back, but couldn't justify spending $300. Looks like this patience paid off seen as I'll be getting this for half the price.
Can't wait to see the Nalanji pics Marcus!

I'm not a big fan for so much red paint, it reminds me more of Braniff Airways colour scheme from a distance...

Is this brow changed compared to the RR wunala? Maybe its just the paint scheme, but for some reason this all red's brow looks a lot better. If this model does in fact have a fixed brow, I still probably won't get it as I have no interest in the livery, but I might get the GE wunala (instead of the RR), assuming its brow is fixed as well.

Can anyone confirm/deny (or at least let me know if you notice the same thing)?

Not sure it got fixed. The brow is what does it for me. Would like to see a side-on shot to check.

Looks great! I love the molding of the GE engines and how they don't have those unsightly "barrel lines" that the IF versions have. Can't wait for my 3 QFs to land.

The original run was only 99 pieces, which is why they went for serious $$$ on the secondary market. The backstory is, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, that IF planned a Wunula Dreaming release but the licensing fell through so they cut production and released the "big Red" in a very limited batch.

I don't see the need for a re-release, unless IF wants a bunch of boxes sitting on shelves collecting dust.

For one of those unfortunate fews who did not get one of the Big Reds, I would like to see a re-release on the IF200 mould. But as you mention it, if there is anyone who wants to sell their IF200 Qantas "Red" bird so they can get the JC version, PM me and we'll talk.

The first difference I notice between the old IF200 release and this JC one is JC's correct grey color on the wheel hubs and landing gears.

I saw this plane sitting at the gate in Sydney a few years ago and it was beautiful.
I guess that's enough reason to buy one!

if your purchase criteria is having seen the bird sitting at the gate in sydney, and if you had stayed at the gate long enough, you'd have a whole long list of purchases this year alone

You're correct, of course.

I collect Qantas so I probably have most most everything that has visited that gate!

Clean, classic, colourful. And its easy to admire the 747's beautiful shape, without all the clutter of the supposed "art" plastered all over the fuselage.

Notice the air intakes aren't the 'gun metal grey' on this model like they are on the IF200 bird. Tho looking at the real aircraft the engines look the usual silver colour too. What was the reason for the grey engine intakes on the IF model? My IF 200 Thai 747 also has the grey intakes looking at it.

This one looks good, but this summer, there are four b747 between JCW and GJ, all are from Qantas. Allthough I like this airline, four, it is too much for me.

four is too much for your wallet... but too few for your collection

Basically, it is not really a wallet problem (eventhough it isn't false too much), but about my 200 scales, I have for rule not to collect twice the same airline company...
