Default jcwings malaysia airlines "hibiscus" 9m-mpd

okay guys... here's my pics right out of my mobile under florescent lighting so any post processing is actually coming from the mobile itself having been set on "auto" and flash disabled. have a good weekend, guys. cheers!

Such a nice scheme! Now that you have the model, how is the alignment of the paxwindows?

Thanks for sharing!

Nice pics! Thanks for posting.

BEAUTIFUL model. The outlining on the radome makes SUCH a positive difference in the appearance of the model. JCW is doing a raelly good job on their 747s, and given their record of responding to customers, the mold can only get better. It looks like this model aslo has all the 'bling'! I see the jeweled landing lights in the wings. I presume the nose gear lights are there too.

Accurate or not (and I personally think it is pretty accurate), I really like the JCW nose and cockpit. The 'brow' has never been a particular focus of mine, but if JCW does do something about it, I hope they make the cockpit windows a little more vertical. Like I said though, the model is just fine for me the way it is and I'm glad I have it on pre-order.

looks good to me but to be honest, i did not take a ruler to check. sorry. you'd probably have to go to your local hobby store to check that out.

yups... it has always been in my "holy grail" list, this. the brow? a straight on shot with the lens pointed at the nose tip or cockpit? lemme know... i'll try to oblige.

my bad... thought you meant the black bits at the top of the bird when you said radome outline before i realised my mistake. yeah, it's good. as for that two black thingy up upon the bird (see last pic)... if200 has them as bumps so they're more accurate in that respect.

not exactly a fan of blings but yeah, it's there on the nose gear too (sorry... only have top lighting so the undercarriage is grossly underexposed. flash with tissue diffuser still produces garishly overexposed pics... and neither "night" settings nor bumping up the exposure helped. sorry )

dunno whether this is the shot you're looking for or not but in any event, it shows charlie alpha the nose gear bling (sorry... got a bit carried away with the vignette effect there).

They are actually two tiny plastic parts applied by hand into two minuscule holes!

I think those 'black thingeys' are satelite antenna domes. I'm not sure if they are both for satelite navigation, communications or both. Maybe one of our resident 747 experts can let us know.

BTW, thanks for the nose pic. I appreciate it.

the convenience of instantly uploading pics from the smartphone is sheer bliss... and they do look quite remarkable, don't they? strangely nobody required a perpendicular profile shot of the cockpit and nose area for this model... so i'm guessing they're cool with the overall shape of that section.

But cant find that in my crummy camera settings!

They are ADF antennas.

This should be the ATC antenna instead of a light, that's why they gonna change this on next release.

ooh ok... so that's what they are. they look... interesting. they sure add to the authenticity of the models (i'm speaking to you, jcw. pays to get your antennas right instead of adding bling blings)

Interesting. The ADF antenna that I am used to are usually on the underside of the aircraft and usually have a white rectangular covering. Although with ADF I don't suppose it matters where they are mounted.
