Now that is a good looking jumbo...don't have this one on order personally, but I'm sure many a colector will be happy with this...maybe one day I'll go fishing for this on the second hand market!

The first KLM 747 that I flew on was the next livery after this one (hint, hint 2 tone blue), so I think I will pass. Looks like a very nice model though. Cheatline looks just about right and the pax windows all line up among other things. Well done!!

Hi CA, comparing to the real plane, i think the window line is high again!! Oh no!

Photo Boeing 747 PH-BUA

Just line up the second level three windows to the cockpit level and compared it with the real plane.....or the distance between the door nearest to the wing root and compare it to the real plane.........or am I wrong???

And the positioning of the flag next to the cockpit......oh no......

True.....anyway, its coming in to land...i bought it because firstly, it is the first 747 for KLM, secondly, jc doesnt have 742 mould and lastly, the high window line issue on IF is part of the expectation........im looking for improvements on window line issue but seems no hope on this....last but no least....nice attractive box cover as always from IF......

Thanks for putting up the pictures.
Now i can with a clear heart cancell my pre-order.
It looks like .......

Pax windows way too high!
And again warped boomerang style cheatlines.
I was looking forawrd to this , but now i really dont want anymore.
Looking at this i will also cancell my pre ordered Avianca one

The cheatline needs to come down all the way to were now the letters it read the name of the plane thats about 6 mm lower.

What do you mean?

Look at it and look at for instance your picture of this plane.
Clearly it is really badly done.

I am tired of parting with my money on bad looking models no matter how limited they are :-)

Why does it look so weird compared to this? I guess the windows and cheatline were printed too high? Even if you take away the overexposed pictures it looks weird. I guess we have to wait for more photos to judge, it could be the angle

Hey Sarge!!

Your singapore 747 looks really beautifull and correct in my opinion.
The KLM one does not.
You ate right ill just wait to see the actual model , and than decide to keep it or not. But looking at these release pics my hopes are not high.

I am a bit PO'd because how can the screw up such an iconic livery.

Oh man!!! Looking at SQ 742, comparing the window line, this is a screw up!! I'm cancelling my order!!! No more IF742 until windows line issue resolve. Thanks Sarge!

They are becoming seriously overpriced toys iso collectors models.
Why do you still want to buy this?????

Than it is more like an addiction than a hobby imho.
The only way you can tell inflight that they are screwing up is by NOT buying product.

Plus if you do buy you actually become part of the problem.
They will feel no urge to change.

Just leave it for a change, buy your wife some nice shoes or other gifts iso this junk that you are not entirely happy with

I dont think they care , simply because of your " i dont think i will cancel" remark.

Thats exactly the problem.
Don't get me wrong i am also guilty of this on many occasions in the past.
I actually spend about 1500€ a year on models from inflight.

But i am stopping. I think the quality is simply becoming awfull.

The Singapore 747 that you see here above is almost perfect.
But they must have fired the guy at quality control since then

Small errors are fine , but this is just horrible.

Fully agree with your statements!!! I'm sure this is what most serious 1/200 diecast airliners collectors will believe that if we don't highlight these errors, makers won't be bothered and keep producing planes of such standards!!

Nice....but, I'd love to see more the following livery with the iconic blue top, the wide blue cheatline & the chrome bottom. That would be a definitive YES & a MUST HAVE for me!

I have cancel my order as well now. JC PLEASE ANNOUNCE this model & make this mold. We can only hope.
Inflight should consider a REDO on this with another run or STOP the sale. If there are only 240 units made then just strip them and reuse the planes.
I don't know, but where is BOB to check these things?????????

Marcus, maybe you havent noticed this thread, but before making another KLM B747 could/would you alao carefully consider improving the window misalignment in JCs OWN B787 first?!

From that top-down view, the cheatline looks crooked, higher in the rear-wing area, lower in front & rear of fuselage. Poor effort.

Well said. If collectors want the manufacturer to change or improve, the only way is refusing to buy their products.

I always use Phoenix 1:400 as an example. People(the nervous buyers) rush to buy Phoenix 1:400 despite the quality and issues, the direct result is deteriorating quality but increasing prices.

Line issue is always obvious and therefore is a big issue. No need to buy a wrong model. That's so simple.

By the way, I am more concerned whether IF200 has changed their V-shaped cockpit window on this KLM release...

Judging by the new EVA and 95th KLM, they fixed the v-shaped cockpit windows. The front of the model is looking pretty great now actually, perhaps even better than the JC.

As any other manufacturer! its not an exact science, so I think you will be cancelling a lot of pre-orders and saving a lot of money!

I'm certainly no expert on how they print the windows, but I'm guessing it's extremely difficult to take a flat object and print it onto a complex three dimensional shape. In other words, if they try to make the windows appear more flat from the front section view, it will begin to taper down from the side elevation view. I think they try to make it as even as possible? I'm not sure, but the shape has always bugged me too.

I realize this is something that doesn't occur (at least I haven't noticed it from photos, but perhaps it's less noticeable) on other models, so not sure why it's so difficult on 747's. Perhaps there's something unique in the way this section is shaped on 747's?

Does anyone know when this will arrive in the U.S.? I know it has been produced.

Thanks.

My guess would be by the end of July. Seems like everything that is posted in Asia gets to US in 8 weeks

I saw one of these on display at ARD last weekend...to be honest, I thought she looked awesome...if I wasn't already buying about 10 other jumbo's, I'd have had one myself.

Yes, I agree. I've seen other photos of it, and I think I'm gonna pull the trigger.
