Here are a few pictures

The MD-11 is really nice model, it has a weak spot (flimsy landing gear) but overall is a nice collectible. Now I am waiting for the FedEx.

Great representation as usual! I've pre-ordered FedEx too.

Nice pictures Erik!!

Great model. I LOVE the gray tail. This is how I remember all of the DC-10s and MD-11s. I know the red cheatline is a little too low, but that doesn't bother me a bit.

I opted for this one too because the 'chrome tail' on the IF DC-10 looked funny to me contrasted against the polished aluminum fuselage. I suppose it is all a matter of taste. The 'wrong' cheatline may bother some more than the tail.

In any case, a well done model by Gemini and well worth having in your collection.

Great pics, Erik! (As usual.) Gemini did a great job on this model. I'd give it a 9 out of 10. Looking forward to the FedEx.

You're right when you say it simply comes down to a matter of taste. I love the polished tail and wish that it was able to be done on the real 1:1 AA MD-11 like it was on the DC-10.

That said, the AA MD-11 in polished metal is THE model I have been waiting for since I started collecting and am really happy to be able to add it to my collection.

I will allow myself to buy one American three holer simply because they are stunning but am really on a roller coaster deciding wich one to take.. the MD-11 or the upcoming DC-10-10. As I am no real American airlines collector (5 models now), just one will do.. someone has a pic displaying both AA models??? (Gemini MD-11 and the IF DC-10-30).

Thank you for the beautiful pics by the way Eric!!

Lovely photos really show the fantastic scheme on this AA bird. I'm glad I got mine, I always loved the iconic AA tri-holers! The MD-11 is a beautiful aircraft in my opinion and this livery was one of the best, I really hope a Delta widget bird is released I really do.
Thanks for sharing mate.

Try to slightly bend the nose gear door more outwards. It is not open wide enough.

I'll place my money on the upcoming inflight 200 dc-10-10 with banjo exhaust and chrome tail with detail. As for the MD-11 which I flew on once from LHR-JFK, I'll wait for SMA's product to come out...since they have an eye for detail.
