Default Herpa Fokker F-27 and F-50

hello everybody

did anybody tried already to remove the wings of both F-27 and the F-50 ? if yes, what is the best way to do it.

I Need to remove the wings of both planes, to do a custom Version, and it is much easier to repaint and decal the fuselage without wings

many thanks

Marc

It's hard to avoid paint damages if do so, may I suggest you buy a blank version from JCW?

that will not help me, as i Need the wings off to repaint the fuselage anyhow....it is much easier to apply decal stripes to the fuselage without wings.... so a blank wont really help me....does JCW even has a White F-27 and F-50 ?

No, JCW has not released any F-50, and all the F-27 are in some livery.

Salut,
I would seriously NOT recommend JC Wings due to the very poor mould! Herpa looks fine!

+1. I agree with you. Herpa has best moulds of these models.

Eurojet,
I believe the JCW F-27 actually uses the HobbyMaster mould.

Without a doubt, the Herpa F50 & F27 are the 'best-of-the-best'.

Hi,
Judging from pictures, I don't think so. Both are inferior moulds, but they seem different to me. Maybe JC bought the HM mould and 'modified' it a bit.

No, it is a different mould.

If the mould were that bad, the three JC Wings F 27s wouldn't be in my glass cabinet.

It's difficult to rework an existing mould, in fact HM and JC mould are technically different.

I stand corrected then. I must be confusing this with something else.

I have always liked the Herpa Fokker 50 mould, for me it is correct, in every little aspect.
I had to stop buying them until recently!

Sadly, the F27 never convinced me, hence not having one single model in my collection.
It just doesnt look right...

THe Fokker 50 is very nice, I have some of them.
My only comment will go to the forward fuselage cross section, it should be ovoid, not circular.

JC Wings replicate this very well on their F 27, I can't talk about the Herpa model, I have none.

Jean Pierre.

The Herpa F50 is quite a gem. I wasn't aware of the cross section issue. Regardless, I am looking forward to adding one or two more of these in the future. Hopefully I can slip a Herpa F27 into the collection too?

It is easy to get 'addicted' to some of Herpa's lines, isn't it? Their F50's are one of them, IMHO.

I understand completely, Rui. I had a bit of 're-adjusting' to contend with myself. I'm in complete control now.
