Any chance of getting some pics with the model sitting on the 'ground'. I would like to see the if engine clearance above the ground has been improved.

Thanks in advance!

I can't get a good pic but it looks the same as my JCW and Pheonix 787s

Beautiful model! I'd like to get this, but I'd prefer an A340-600 (still waiting for this in diecast)!

Picked mine up today, what a stunning model. But what I do like is the new box with the display window like you see on the 1:400 models.

Really neat model!
I did noticed that this 789 (OP's) has the beacon light (red jewell) vs the UAL 788 which does not have it, at least mine doesn't have it.

Either way, beautiful models by Gemini! Enjoy it, sir!

The United is a failed release using the Phoenix mould. I don't get why they bothered releasing it with that mould.

Nor do I...especially when they released the new American 787 on the new mould one month later.

I was planning to get the United 787, but not now.

I couldn't decide between this and the JC Wings ANA 787-9, finally went with the ANA. This looks amazing so I hope I don't regret my choice later.

I agree with you, really dont know why the United 787 couldn't have been held for the new mould

Very nice indeed. So is my understanding correct that the Gemini and JCWings are the best diecast 787 mold/s at the moment?

I made the same choice. I have a bigger ANA fleet than Virgin, so I think it was the right choice for me.

Yes. The new mould even has the accurate cockpit windows. Looking forward to JC wings' next release Air New Zealand Boeing 787-9 All Blacks livery and hope they release Boeing "House Color" livery in the future!

I personally prefer the Virgin Atlantic but i'm sure the ANA will look awesome too! It's good we like different models and have such a choice or we would all be squabling over the same one's. It would be nice if you can post some pics to show us.

I will post some pics as soon as she arrives if someone doesn't beat me to it.

We seem to have this little problem with the Port of LA work slow down at the moment. It adds about 3 weeks to the delivery time.

I hope someone can compare the colors of this GJ version and the Phoenix version with real Virgin 787-9 and make some comments.
Having checked both of them on my hands, I could see there are many differences between GJ and Phoenix version. I find it strange that no nitpicker has pointed them out yet...

I would guess that the GJ version is the most accurate colour match to the real thing...

The Person i bought my model off met me at Heathrow. There were two Virgin Atlantic 787s in at the time and the colour looked fine to me.

Great model! Would anyone make a comparison of Virgin atlantic B787-900 between the Phoenix and GJ?

The colors of Virgin Atlantic should be pearl white + metallic red.
GJ is very accurate this time (more accurate than the A330 and A340)
Phoenix 787-9's colors are light grey and slightly pink metallic red which are wrong colors.

I would agree A6-EGO, i have seen both and GJ is definately the right colour which the A340 wasn't.

Agreed, the 330 and 340 are a little too dark and greyish. This one looks spot on.
