I may be willing to let mine go, sadly it arrived with the 2 missing antennas in the rear, and the engine cone detached in one of the engines, rest is mint and model isn't yellowed.

Thanks, guys! I am really enjoying these beauties, I was speechless when I saw the main gears mechanism. It's a real work of art, the word perfection sculpted on a piece of plastic.

These models are truely breathtaking, but there is an 'elephant in the room' too.

I know this will start a barrage of comments. but even the mighty Herpa Modell Editions have their flaws too. Unfortunately Herpa has its own version of the famous Hogan 'Duck Nose' going. I have the Bonn 747, and I love it to pieces, but there are no perfect models, and this one is no exception.

But to be realistic, the Herpa Model Editions and Premium series have enough going for them that overlooking one little flaw is easy.

I agree with all of your comments here, CA. I'm a HUGE and outspoken fan of the Herpa Modell Edition/Premium line, and I wish our hobby as a whole would move back toward this kind of quality. But these models had their share of faults and idiosyncrasies. Namely, the yellowing issue, the "sandwich" effect of the fuselage mould pieces, and as you mentioned, the inaccurate nose shape of the 747. The 737 also had a less than perfect nose shape, which is a bit odd considering 727 nose is perfect.

Thankfully, the majority of models are still pure white and should remain pure white for the foreseeable future (as long as displayed/stored properly). The sandwich effect never really bothered me (and probably hasn't even been mentioned on this forum in the past decade). And the 747 nose shape is easily forgiven given the flawless execution and stunning detail of the rest of the model.

Here's to hoping we'll eventually see a revived Herpa Premium line, or equivalent. If I ever strike it super rich in this life, I'll fund the venture myself.

DAC for quite some time now has been hi-jacked by those with a Facebook culture. It is never anymore about simply appreciating someone posting photos of a model, discussing aviation history, etc. Instead the majority of posters here get their satisfaction from the instant snappy feedback, dividing everything into a "like/dislike" discussion, insults and whatnot. I am not surprised at all that the real hobbyist have turned their backs on this place and almost nobody posts photos of their purchases on DAC anymore. I'd rather be on a forum with perhaps fewer posts but when somebody does share, it is about appreciation of aircraft models, not the quick "tweet" like or dislike culture.

that is quite true but some guys here are being paid "in cash or in nature" to write down poor comments on this board....
I will call them the "bitching team"
They will of course deny and scream but I do not care

What's wrong with you? I only asked a question and your start getting excited, who is hijacking now?
Anyway, I go through the history and friend list, which can tell where you come from and get paid

JC 747 looks ridiculous when comparing to the herpa premium

give me a call when a diecast model can reach this level of detail...
I think that hardcore JC fans are blind...
way off considering the photos above

Even the front gears doors are too big and the curve windows yikesssssssss lol
half *** job at the end except...

jeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz this point is mentionned because someone had mentionned the wrong size of the wheels on the a350.........

you made my day

sorry but the gears and the doors's gears are really bad, my last purchase "CX 777-300er" from JC comfirms that there is a serious problem on the quality of the gears....

so easy to tease some specific JC hardcore fans.......
thks for getting out of the rabbit hole so quicky (the suspects did show up pretty fast!)

well Tonka and A6-EGO is 50% owner of JC lol

this statement is a joke, how many free models do you receive from JC ????
but seriously do you see a b747 mould on the JC, I don't and that is a big mistake on the area I point on before, the first thing that you notice with now a clear profile view......

amazing but real, when the reward is a free model there is no more rules......
this forum is going down hard.......

I still think that JC b747-400 looks weird ... I do not see a 747...

I have the inflight version and it is a beauty !

No need to fight or argue. Just see how many people decided to buy the JC Tropical instead of the IF/JFOX Tropical. People don't always tell the truth but figures never tell lies. It was very clear. No matter how the IF guys tried to attack the JC Tropical by talking about its nose, about 97% of DAC members told us that they had bought the JC version. This is the real situation.

Ring...Ring...Ring... If you were talking about the excellent landing gear with suspension and the transparent windows on Herpa Premium, I agree with you, not any diecast model so far has reached this kind of level. But... if you were talking about the nose of Herpa Premium Boeing 747, then I think you really need a pair of glasses. Come on, just look at that cute duck nose Of course you said JC wings Boeing 747 looks ridiculous when comparing to the Herpa Premium! BTW, it's kinda hard to convince me you're not an IF army...

"Sarcasm; here ...

Now who got all excited ?!

My dear M.... you are so easy to tease.

I suggest you also learn how to properly quote, your post was a mess of words, you were so blind and came running to the rescue , that you triped in your own words. You are becoming tiring, and I sugest you go back to that section of yours called " a word from JC wings", i'll help you pack my friend, thats where you belong really, stop making the fool out of the people here.
And I also suggest you wash your mouth with soap, it will do wonders, trust me.
As for thinking that Dac IS the world of people outhere who colects, how small can you be?! dac is nothing but a grain of sand in the world of diecast collectors, something you two are not, Im sure.
And look, my english is also improving thanks to a lovely wife and my insisting visits to this forum, I can learn so much here.
(I'll be sending you the coconut back, and you may keep it somewhere where the sun dont shine)
My favorite word I picked lately is moron....great word right?!
Now go back to the factory and improve your models, starting with those nasty landing gears, and while you are there make that nose right on your new mould(s) !

My apologies go to Mr.Rochav6 for disturbing his original clean post about a nice model, it is a very nice piece, indeed.
You should also apologize to him, my dear M....it would help your image around here.

Dean

Dean
Man I just cracked up laughing reading your reply, he thinks that people are blind

You come from UK but need improvement of your English Try avoid bring your wife and baby girl here and angling for sympathy, just do you job right and sell more models for your fat boss. I know you get one dollar from each model sold
May be I am small but I can make things change, the manufacturers will do more when more voices here. Anyway, more comfortable to read your thread whenever you use a ghostwriter, Britisher
