Exclamation New releases 2x JFOX BA Landor L1011

Fellow collectors,

Found these 2 BA releases from Jfox.
The G-BHBN and G-BBAG will be made.

I have the GJ BA Landor L1011 but one of these will be tempting too.

well, depending on price, if I DID get one it would probanly be G-BHBN as reg. is very similar to our home address postcode which is BN11 4BH!!

The only reason that qualifies for me, actually.

But, wait... didn't the IF200 Landor L-1011s all have those profound crack lines under the dark blue colour on the belly?! THAT would be the best reason ever (given that the new JFOX models won't suffer from that problem, of course)...

How do you know the new jfox will or will not suffer the cracks at belly?

That was the ****ty issue that made eBay busy selling them off to people who don't mind....

Considering JFOX is just a BS name of IF200 models, and with their current quality standards, I imagine they will have bigger issues than cracked belly paint.

I don't remember the first release by Inflight having cracking issues. That was only on the 747 releases in the Landor scheme. I owned one of the L1011 Landor's for quite a while and it never cracked.

The IF Landor Tristars definitely do not have the cracking issues. The last release was also BBAG, so either I hope the change it, or I will be skipping that one.

Hope that unlike the drawing they make the model of BN with the fairing under engine 2. I currently have Martin Beacom making a custom of BR which I flew on around 100 years ago in the Landor scheme. He is using a Kalitta donor.

In the illustration that starts this thread, neither aircraft has the fairing depicted. These were introduced for enhanced aerodynamics on the 500's, and later model L10's. BN had one, AG did not.

Does it mean buying AG will be more accurate and close to the real plane??? I'm trying to find a reason not to buy two but only one. Question is which is is more realistic and worth buying....

When you saying fairing depicted, what does you mean?

If BN is released per the drawing (and I am not saying it will be!), it will be inaccurate. AG will be in terms, at least, of the fairing. Google Image both registrations, and look at the area under the front of engine 2's intake and the fuselage.

Ok. Now I get what you mean. Looks like AG is more appropriate representation here..

Glad to see they are releasing the Landor L-1011 again. Now, if only they would release another TWA twin stripes bold titles L-1011.

For those that did not go "googling" for the difference - here it is:

This one has the fairing ahead of the #2 engine intake..

G-BHBR BA Landor L1011-500 Skyline
by UK John A, on Flickr

and this one does not...

G-BBAJ Caledonian L1011

Looking at the rest of my collection - I see that IF have done models with and without the fairing - so no reason for JFOX not to get it right...
