Default A380 Diecast Question

Hi fellow collectors

I am aware that earlier releases of A380's in diecast had a slightly to small cockpit window print.

The first model I saw that had a slightly larger printing was the BA A380. Is it safe to assume all A380's released after that has the larger cockpit window printing?

I am thinking of picking up Emirates A6-EEJ as it can be found for a good price. Does that have larger cockpit windows than the A6-EDE release?

Thanks,
G

Hi G,

A good place to start is here:

Diecast Model Aircraft

You should be able to gauge what the cockpit windows are like from the pics.

Maybe some collectors on here who have these 2 models will be able to confirm 100% for you.

Thank you, I have been looking at all the pictures I could find, and it does seem it could be rectified, although admittedly my eyesight may be misleading me and I just wanted to confirm with the experts on this board.

Thanks again,
G

Hi GiveMeWings.
Very true. Only first few releases have the undersized cockpit windows.
As far as i can remember, the ones with the small cockpit windows from both jc/gj are:
-china southern
-house colours love @ first flight
-qantas
-lufthansa
-SIA
-malaysia airlines
-and most notably the emirates a380, that is the very first EK A380 from gemini and also the first - A6-EDE release.

i think starting from the british airways release and all that come after it, have the revised larger cockpit windows.

To answer your question, yes, the A6-EEJ has the larger cockpit windows. There is even a youtube video of a comparison with the first A6-EDE by one of the members here.

Hope that helps! :-)

Maybe these will help. I only have the first Emirates so I used one of the latest releases, Qatar, to compare. Korean-China Southern and BA-Lufthansa are following...
