Default Not 200, but... Oxford BOAC Commer Bus

Another recent arrival
Oxford (diecast) BOAC Commer Commando Bus. 1/76th Needs a nice 1/72 BOAC Propliner to display with.
Note body is mainly plastic not diecast probably to get the windows to appear more correct.
Nice for collectors of Airport/Airline related vehicles.

I am involved with Oxford Diecast on these. You can always build a Heller 1/72 BOAC Connie or Academy Stratocruiser kit which would look great with this bus.
We have a BEA one coming next in the late '40s/early '50s livery, which would look nice with a 1/72 BEA DC-3 which Corgi make.

Very nice, I have something else.

BOAC coach ref 283, an old Dinky Toys, I got it around 1955.

Yes have one of these with decals to restore to original condition.

Robert did have the heller 1/72 connie super connie and dc7 but got destroyed over the years. Have still a Heller 1/72 BOAC707 I have to repair I built probably 20 years ago.
NB did you go for the Vintage & Veteran Connie I PM'd you about?

would love to see the hellier 707 when finished! the V-V RAf Britannia finishes tomorrow. nice model, but still sticking to boac atm!! btw, had a HASEGEWA BOAC 747 arrive today, but needs a stand to go with it before I can post proper pics. sadly it lost front antennae in atlantic crossing.

Quick update, got a BEA Commer bus today. Will post pics.

But January 2015 sees Oxford doing the BOAC Commer Commando in 1/148th N scale.

Nice match for my 144th Corgis and only slightly large for 1/200.

I'm not sure what your involvement is, but it has to be brilliant, as this model is brilliant! Thanx for your effort.

Corgi 1:72 BEA DC-3? I thought those were LONG out of circulation. Nice model, if one can handle the flat wings. But agreed, they all would look superb together!!

Thanx for that!

THAT is the scale I could use. I refused to dispose of a few of my favourite Corgi 1:144 Britannias, and my BOAC Britannia 100 is a cracker! Time to look up in the upper reaches of the spare room closet again. (It's been a while since the DAF days.)

Time to check out eHatton's again.

I'd be more surprised if you didn't!

I had both too, but sold off the 300. The 100 was a gift from my dear brother, as is my highly cherished CPA Britannia 300 (with some slight mods) sitting in front of me here. I also held onto my RAF transport Britannia. A tidy trio.

By the way . . . G-ANBA sports an error. There should not be the 'eyebrow' windows on the flightdeck. Still a gorgeous model regardless.

I love Oxford's products. They are well made, with great attention to detail. (At least the models I have.) I just wish they were 1/72. But one can't have everything...

Oh, that IS lovely, isn't it? Ahhh, yes . . . Hatton's. Always my first choice for this sort of thing.

Thanks for your allocade! I provided the research photos for the BOAC and BEA Commandos. As for a 1/72 BEA DC-3, decals are available if you're up to building an Airfix/Italeri/Revell kit.

You're most welcome. Credit where credit due.

Ahhh . . . OK. Can do. Pity that Corgi 1:72 BEA DC-3 has gotten into the wind. They sat around for so long at a number of places too. Not too bad of a model, only some small mods required. Mind you, those wings sure were flat. Overall, it would have looked a treat with this BEA Commando.

Thanx!

Lovely.
Just like Airbus and other Boeings, this aircraft has a RAT (Ram Air Turbine) …
