Default 1/200 Continental Airlines 75th Anniversary "Blue Skyway" Boeing 737-900

I stopped in at Flight Centre (formerly Aviation World) for their grand opening today and picked up a beautifully painted Continental B739. This is 200 Aviation's Boeing 737-900 in Continental Airlines 75th Anniversary "Blue Skyway" livery. It remains in this paint scheme today flying with United Airlines. I've worked on this jet a couple times at YVR so my 1/200 scale collection of planes I've actually worked or flown on is (very) slowly growing. It joins my Gemini United A320 Friend Ship and they look fantastic together (I'll get some photos up soon). For now, here's a quick pic of the Continental model as well as a couple photos of it at YVR - one just after I pushed it off the gate and one just before. Enjoy!

I like that United kept the plane in the Continental titles once the plane was merged into their fleet. I wish American's retrojets were in their respective titles.

Looks exactly like Aviation World except with stuff on the shelves.

Never been to the one in YYZ. The one at YVR had pretty much given up a year ago. They had no pilot supplies left and very few desirable models left.

I really like this livery, and the -900 version of the 737. I have the 1/100 Skymarks Supreme version.

It's a favourite of mine for sure. I haven't seen it in a while though. Not since the summer.

I gave up on Aviation World in total disgust some time ago. Nothing but empty shelves, and somnolent, indolent staff surfing the Internet instead of at least going through the motions of trying to help customers. So there's actually some stock now, eh? Anything worth making the trip from Surrey?

It's not Aviation World anymore. The former manager bought it and re-opened it as Flight City. He's already got some new stock and promises plenty more coming. They have pilot supplies again and they have plenty of Dragon models and handfuls of new Gemini stuff too.
