well since my post just over an hour ago the seller has put postage up to USD$95.00 up five dollars. See if postage goes up again to $100.00 next hour? lucky you got this model HU
Crazy price, I see they got an Evergreen Supertanker for a princely sum as well. This aircraft is on my hit list, but not at close to $1200!
The Supertanker price is a real puzzler, considering that Flying Mule has that model on for $159 (Sept. restocking).
I also scratch my head at the VR-HOT price, considering you can buy a -300 model on eBay right now (B-HOL $199) or a -200 (BB200 for $169.99 or JC Wings for $185). I guess if you really must have a -400 in that classic livery, your options are severely limited.

price is high, but then ANA models, and a lot of others are expensive in japan! also you will be clobbered with high IMPORT tax as well!!!!!!
Callume, I use TRANSGLOBAL EXPRESS for packages over 2 kilos overseas. average price is around half!! they use, fedex, ups, dhl and others etc. and they collect from your own home. delivery 2/3 days tracked/insured. I once shipped 2 models to u.s.a for just £50.00 ish.
You are right there Callum. I'm very shortly going to sell off a good amount of my collection only because of space considerations and I'll have to check for Cathay, Qantas, KLM etc. That's another reason to have a clearout, when you don't even know what you have and there's some nice stuff including Smallworld, Inflight LE, along with some travel agent sized models too.
That said, I'm not giving them away. If they don't sell, they don't sell.
As far as postage is concerned, buyer pays the going rate and they'll go tracked only. Also, I will very likely limit them to UK based customers. Buyer collects would be even better, or I can arrange for drop off in Heathrow area to save on the postage hassle.

Even on a UPS Business Account we are quoted £66 to Australia. Admittedly it's up to 30kg which is great, but it's still quite a bit for one model.

Very interesting this model is indeed, as I said I have no interest in at all of getting it but I posted to see all your opinions and views. This ebay shop is quite an exclusive shop if you have gone through and had a look at everything they have for sale (including a LH 727-200 Herpa Premium). A few things I have learned.
(1) Shipping from Japan is almost as expensive as Australia. (2) model #21391 posted above as on topic was released at 60 units only makes this model extremely very rare indeed even more so than model #20524 @ 99 units, & as the data base shows USD 700.00 as a highest price paid. As others have mentioned, not everyone enters the true price they paid although, in this case it is probably correct, & (3) the data base needs to be corrected with who released this model either of BBOX /AV200 as it was not Inflight200 as robertjohn5 correctly mentioned
