Quality Issues: ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS Lockheed L-1011-1 'Mohican'
Folks,
Disappointingly, I recently recognized that the blue colour stripe as well as the blue tail of my Aviation200 ANA L-1011 in 'Mohican' colours suffers from a similar quality (paint) problem such as the Inflight200 British Airways 747s and L-1011s in the 'Landor' scheme. However, and interestingly, these were not apparent when I bought this model several years back (when it was released).
There are multiple covered cracks in/under the paint (see pictures). These are running from here to there, in any direction you can imagine. Technically, as far as I remember, this was (or might be) caused by an improper production process when the different layers of paint were applied (too fast). At least, that information was given when the paint cracks/lines on the Inflight models were discussed.
What a shame. A real gem of the collection ends in the scrap press.

That is very average file size. I streamline for web as well. At work our user base is HUGE. the fact they installed new cameras in every copy room and hallway is eating the bandwith alive. But in the meantime; it's a shame to see this L1011 suffering such large areas finish problems.

Bringing this topic back on top. I am much interested in other collectors' feedback if any other ANA 'Mohican' L-1011s suffer from the paint job problem pictured in my initial post.
As said before, the 'covered crack lines' actually appeared quite a while after the model was bought (several years, in fact), so I am wondering if any of you discovered this unfortunate problem lately.

I will check mine and let you know. Though less detailed that is why I like my Aero Mini's. Yes the decals yellow a little, but no zinc rot/paint issues after 40 plus years! Some real inferior junk being pumped out of the Chinese factories!

Yes my BBOX03 ANA L1011 Tristar in Mohican livery has the same issue with cracked paint but you need extra light to spot the cracks. I can live with that.

to be honest i also got few models of Aviation200 , few of them do have paint issues and most of all with the Inflight 200 ''yellowness'' issues . so now i stick to JC or GJ and stoped buying them.These issues must be exposed more over here .
