The releases are not bad, I do like the MD-11, but I think I will hold out for the FedEx release, hopefully Panda Express! It's nice to see the A330-300 back but i'm still holding out for the KLM one.

The talk on the other forum for September releases got me really excited, some people thought that a B717 or a C-130 would be included in these releases, I started getting excited again for those releases. Hopefully sometime in the future though!

Wow... so much hype and so much disappointment for me. WHY, WHY, WHY do all the Eastern releases need the Bicentennial logo on them? It really screws people who want to use the plane for a diorama of a year other than '76.

Another Emirates A380? But I thought no one over there is buying heavy diecast widebodies anymore. (Reference TOGAselected's thread on the supposed "death" of the 1:200 hobby.)

MD-11 looks good. I'm guessing the timing of this new mould is no coincidence given SMA's planned launch. I really hope this doesn't hinder SMA's future, though, as I have high hopes for the brand and really want them to succeed.

Well with Gemini being licensed for LOT Polish Airlines and having done DC-3s for Buffalo Airways, the ATR and the Electra could be interesting in the future.

Thank you Gemini for bringing the KL MD-11!! This bird is still in service but it sadly wont be long untill she leaves the Netherlands for good..Absolute must have for me.. The Electra looks promising too! One EK A380 is enough for me though, when can we expect the EK A345 or B772??

With all of the hype I am bit disappointed. Yes, the ATR and Electra are new to Gemini but not totally new moulds. The KLM looks really cool! I may have to end of getting that one, since it's the last commercial MD-11 flying. Really hope to get that in a Delta widget livery.

I expected so much more. The KLM isn't bad but I wish it was in the old livery. And is this the 3rd or 4th Emirates A380??? If they are going to continue putting out this airline every month, why can't Gemini do a 727 or A300 or A340-300?

OK...!!!

Finally, the guys at Gemini & JC Wings have read my signature and decided to bring the remaining 'wants' to me within a year or so.

Convair 990 Spantax
L-1011-500 United
L-1011-500 BWIA
MD-11 KLM

...and counting! Great!

In the meantime, however, and after years the model was bought, I discovered a very unfortunate problem on my Aviation200 ANA All Nippon Airways 'Mohican' L-1011-1. Click here!

I agree. I'd rather have the standard scheme of iconic airliners. They did the same with the EAL DC-9-30. I have a co-worker friend who flew for Eastern as a flight attendant before flying for AA, and I'm sure she would have been all over the new EAL L-188 release if it had been in the regular scheme, and she's not even a model collector.

The same was with the AA and DL 767-200s- the AA was with the Veteran's Yellow Ribbon, and the DL 762 was the Spirit of Delta. I was glad they released the standard scheme Widget DL L-1011 after the Bicentennial one, so I bought one. It's a beautiful model.

I wonder if the Electra mould is different than Hobby Master's- I would go for the Electra in the delivery scheme of AA in the International Orange colors, or the 1960s "Squashed Egg" lightning bolt scheme, even though I already have the Hobby Master, since GJ has metal landing gear. Although the Electra's plastic gear with the HM models are among the sturdiest, much better than the gear on DC-4s or Connies.

A mostly money-saving month for me, save for the AC A330-300, but no rush to get it, it will be around for a bit, so I'll buy it eventually.

Seconded for most all that---I do NOT buy bicententennial/one-off DL/EA. My GJ DL and EA fleets would be twice as big as they are, if they just made the NORMAL VERSIONS.

Give me a widget 762 that's NOT N102DA, just a standard-scheme one. Give me EA planes without that badge on them.

PS--I forgot about the ribboned AA 762, that's another one I'd love to have in the STANDARD scheme on my shelves.

If the Electra mold is truly decent and they can do polished, bring on re-releases of the AA Electras. The HM has that stupid hump behind the cockpit (along with red cheat lines - argh) and the WM can't be polished. Polished metal and the correct colors for AA would be stunning to go along with the upcoming AA CV-990...

The KLM MD-11 looks nice! I am hoping that the introduction of the Electra in the Gemini 200 lineup will lead to a P-3 Orion in future.

All right! An Emirates A380... Another one...

First of all I would like to express my appreciation for the work that GeminiJets does

Now unfortunately a rant I'm afraid

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of current subjects (I'm waiting for my AC Express CRJ705 to arrive), BUT I am very disappointed that all the Canadian releases fall into this category with this September batch!! Whatever happened to the period between 1995 and 2010? Is it just me or does anyone else feel as though if its not the latest things, or the most classic of subjects, then its not relevant and shouldn't be produced - namely such things as;
Skyservice A320 (preferably C-FTDA)
Canada 3000 A320 & A330-200
Royal 757
Air Transat 757 (cheatline and late 90s c/s)
and much more recently - Sunwing 737-800

Why should it just be ALL current Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter?
With two releases in this batch being Canadian, it would have been nice if just one of them was something more like what I listed above wouldn't you think?
Surely they would sell wouldn't they?

Mark.

Unless they re using the Av200 Prop-Jet Electra mold just for the pre-release pics, I probably won't be getting one.

The Electra is one of my favorite aircraft, but I don't like the Av200 spinners, propeller collars, and engine shape. Spinners should be smaller, the collars should be next to the spinner and squarish, and the engine spine should be almost straight from the intake to the exhaust.

If this IS a new Gemini mold, and not pictured, I'll have to wait unit I see the actual mold before I order one.

Definitely looks like the Av200 Bluebox or whatever Electra... One has to ask just what the f*** is going on these days between the manus... As we just seem to end up with the LCD... be it reverse engineered Corgi Swordfish or Inflight 130's with Herpa fuses and new wings....

FFS let's see something original.....

Agreed on the non-standard scheme but will buy this Eastern release anyway.
I would love both American Electras because the Hobby Master colors are WRONG and the lightning bolt scheme is needed as well. There is hope now!

Honestly all I know is "it's progressing". Sam or Tom are much more involved in "day to day" stuff and would know what's going on in the factory etc.

Me too! KLM MD11, AC A330, and WestJet 737 are all must haves. And that's after this month's AC Express and WestJet releases. If my wallet had legs it'd be on the run!

Emirates better ask GJ to produce 772 sooner, while EK still on top of their game!

Klm MD-11 is really cool, but not much for me this time. Possibly the EK A380, but that's just one I want to add to my collection at some point down the road. I'm still trying to find ways to buy more of the releases from last month. My two AA birds from that release arrive tomorrow.

I agree with others on the whole bi-centennial sticker on the Eastern Electra
I didn't buy, as much as I wanted to, the GJ200 Eastern DC-9-30
because of the sticker. Same with the Delta 727-100. Bi-centennial
Sticker...dumb! Here's an idea put a sticker in the box and
The collector can add it if they chose.

Air Canada maybe.
Westjet definitely.

Love the look of the MD-11. But will wait for the eventual Delta or American release since those fit my criteria more.

When will there be an A380 release I actually want to buy? Heck, almost anyone other than Emirates. Korean? Asiana? Thai?

Stunning molds. I'm gonna hold on to my money though for now.

I'm looking forward to Northwest A330-300, Varig MD-11 (1980s), PSA and ANSETT-ANA L-188s, and Etihad A380.
