Default American 777-300 Herpa or Hogan?

I'm looking to purchase a 1/200 American 777-300 in the new scheme. I have a BA Herpa 777-300 and like it. I have one Hogan and it's the jetBlue A320. Thoughts on which mfr makes the better version of the AA 777-300? Does the Hogan 777-300 come with metal wheels?

I'd appreciate your thoughts?

Thanks.

Earlier Herpa was using Hogan as supplier. I prefer Hogan any day, compared to Herpa's new supplier. cockpit windows are tiny on their 777/A330/A340 and the landing gears are more realistic on Hogan. Herpa's look like matchbox wheels.

Not a part of this list, but Skymarks I feel did this one better. The engines are great, and the grey seems to be more correct than Hogan's or Herpa's. The stand looks good as well.

+1

I support this comment and I would also like to add that newest Herpa models have a inaccurate engine nacelles, they are too thick.

I will definitely go for Hogan version.

I agree with B777Driver.

I looked at the Hogan and Skymarks and chose the Skymarks based upon the engines and the black cabin and cockpit windows.

I never buy Skymarks but I do like this one.

I have never seen a photo of an AA 777-300ER with dreamflyer 787 titles on it.

Does this really exist?

I'm assuming that is the photographers (or whatever) watermark.

I think you are right. I think this pic is from eBay and I've seen other models by this seller on eBay with the same markings.

Between Herpa and Hogan, I'll get the Hogan.

Between Hogan and Skymarks, I'll get the Skymarks.

Unfortunately I do not have photos of the Skymarks model, but here's a photo of all new AA models by Hogan. Pretty neat for anyone who wants to fleet-build the new AA into his/her collection without the need to invest as much as its diecast counterparts. I believe there's more to come from Hogan, especially with the Airbuses. My only complain for the Hogan models is the glittery paint finish.

The Skymarks/Risesoon one have already existed for a while, and I believe airkuro only applied decal on nose gear door.

Nice trio acari. I'm holding out for the GJ200 versions. I've got the new AA 738 and 319 already along with the rest of the AA fleet GJ200 has ever released but I'm starting to think GJ wont release the AA 77W and the rest anytime soon :-(

Likewise! Out of the repainted AA fleet we have to-date, only 2 (or 22%, including American Eagle) has been released by GJ. That's a huge 78% left for GJ to address This is not including the MD-80 and 757-200, which I'm pretty sure will get repainted soon..

American
  • A319 (released)
  • A321
  • 737-800 (released)
  • 767-300ER
  • 777-200ER
  • 777-300ER

American Eagle
  • CRJ-700
  • ERJ-145
  • ERJ-170

757 will start to get repainted in November and the MD80's won't get the new colors as they will be gone by 2018! Oh I can't wait till they are gone, I don't like working on them.
