Default Inflight 200 - PAL DC-10 has arrived (full pics)!

Greetings! Been awhile since I've been on the DAC (many things on the go at the moment, but I had to share some pics of my latest IF200 DC-10 which I've been patiently waiting for over the years!) Well here she is and the wait was well worth it. I also decided to take 2 pics with my first aviation diecast model I ever purchased ( picked that 1/400 model up in Hong Kong many moons ago, during my changeover. Was hoping that a 1/200 version be made = wish granted, thank you to the folks at Inflight 200!). Hope you like the photos. Cheers! T7

Double Wow!!!!!!!!!!

Some great details on this model, I didn't know about.

I really like the flag near the cockpit windows and also on the wings.
And I really dig the McDonnell Douglas logo over by the third engine. Reminds me of when my dad used to work there!

Thanks T7 for sharing

The last shot sadly reveils how messed up the front section of the 1/200 model is. Besides that it is a real beauty.

Does the 1/400 version have the correct shape? I do agree, the 1/200 isn't perfect but somehow I think the 1/400 looks stubby.

Well, it's not THAT bad. The overall impression of the model is pretty good.

The complete model suffers a little from the fact, that the window line is placed too high. And that is the result of the nose section having a wrong shape. The mould itself could be the problem.

Still a great model!

A lot of great photos, and thanks for sharing. Love the polish & can spot even the nuts on the real wheel hubs I think. Amazing detail. are these new wheels that Inflight are using? Can you take a close up picture of the rear wheels if you get a chance. Thanks

Good point vertigo, window line is a little bit high. Some retooling on the nose section too is needed.

Otherwise looks good, I like the polished belly.

Ah, how beautiful & how jealous I am because our MAS Dc 10 from AV200 is a bit dud: wrong font color & unpolished!!

The problem is also due to Inflight's ridiculously too small NEW flightdeck windows. They should taper downwards much lower, and the bottom of the side windows should be the level where the cabin window-line sits too - see pic below.

Does anybody know why Philippine Airlines had the three white stripes on the nose of their DC-10s?

Does anyone know why the wings are rarely polished? I know most major manufacturers have done it in the past on various models and makes a good model, great looking...is it cost prohibitive?

It would be great to see a polished version of Japan Airlines DC-10.

Thank you, Leslie. I was quite happy that I finally landed this DC-10 in the 1/200 metal scale.

Much obliged. I had to wait a few years for someone to step up and roll this out in 1/200 diecast. I almost pulled the trigger a few times with the Herpa plastic version (1st time - Boxing day sale at AV world, but some other person beat me to the purchse, 2nd time - was on ebay, but changed my mind at the last second). Very thankful and appreciative to Inflight 200 for rolling out one of my models that's been on my wish list for the past 7 years.

I am cool with how the mould was produced, and I don't think I'll be seeing anymore PAL DC-10s with the polished belly from any other manufacturer in the years to come. So I salute Inflight 200 for producing this bird for my 1/200 PAL fleet.

My apologies for the late replies, it's been a busy summer with the family and work. Cheers! T7

I think those stripes on the nose are suppose to represent static discharge strips imbedded in the nose structure but not to be painted over.
