Wink Febraury-March Arrivals

Hi guys:

Well, were are on March and so far I would like to share what I bought in these couple of months. Some new and some old release. Yes, some of them were already shown but not at a thread of my own.

Hope you like the pictures.

One question about the GJ200 FedEx B727, was this model supposed to have the HF antenna at the tail fin cone? I mean, I remember watching the stock picture of this model and certainly it has the antenna right there at the edge of the tail fin. Just like LH B727 Modell Editions do have. This model unlike other B727s made by Gemini has a little hole and I wonder it is there to store the antenna there.

I talked with the previous owner of the model about that special detail and he told me he bought it at his local retailer store. He personally inspected 5 of these models and no one had the antenna. He also mentioned he remember someone else here shared the same model but that one had the antenna.

So, who can enlighten me more about this model?

Ok fellows, hope your are doing great and I wish you a very cool weekend.

Greetings!

Nice arrivals... Good for you buddy.

Where do one get this polished Aero Mexico 757?

That premium is in very good condition, pure white. I got all three but I can see Stade is little pale. The other stade is also pale and broken. I think one has to buy stade with registration card above 2500. Saw one sold for over 150 euro last week.

Nice arrivals. As much as I've complained about the engines and the wing join on the 1/200 Inflight 747-400 mould, it's starting to grow on me...and so is the Air France livery. I always like seeing your new planes. It makes me feel good knowing I'm not the only adult man that feels like a child opening presents on Christmas day!

About the B 727 HF antenna.

Welcome to our young friend from Los Angeles who has almost the same user name as me.

I don't know if this model was delivered with an HF antenna but we can understand why many Fedex B 727 had all the HF equipment removed.

The reason is very simple, these planes were operated over areas where VHF transmission was the normal use.

HF is necessary only when flying over oceans and some parts of the world where you are out of VHF radio coverage.
Central Africa is a good example.

I attach another picture showing a B 727 without HF equipment.

Jean Pierre.

Nice arrivals Erik, I like the JAL cargo 763.

As for the FedEx 727, I can confirm this model does not comes with the HF antenna on the tail. I have this model myself.

Hi guys:

Thanks for the comments and the explanation about the HF antenna. I know the real aircraft didn't wear that aerial and perhaps that's why the model doesn't include that tiny piece.

@Jan Jasinski: JAL Cargo was purchased from Flying Dream
@smanish: that B757 was purchased from the mexican retailer Aviamini.

Jean, I am not certainly sure about it. I looked everywhere in the box and no sign of Socatec on it. May I ask what is your concern about this model? All I can tell you, if you have an Air France fleet, you should buy this model. You won't regret it.

Have a great weekend.

Nice arrivals, thanks for sharing, another "heavy" month arrival for me,almost 40 models in my hangar.

Nice model the Fed Ex GJ B727,mine landed few years back from Hawaii, referring the antenna I thing was going to be a problem there(in the model) because of taking the model around,is a sensitive area, only Herpa Premiums B727's have their antennas in the tail and thanks God I always keep mine in their boxes.

Regards Modestos

The model is nice but the shade of the blue and the Air France title on the fuselage are disturbing me.
In my opinion, the blue used by Gemini for their B 777 was better.

You're very welcome, Erik

I'm always sweatening when the models are in And it's getting worse every time as the models become larger: First LH Modell Edition B727, then A300 aaaand it's actually gonna be an even larger one...

Thanks man, your help has been very valuable. You won't get anything bigger than a Modell Edition A300, the problem is those models come with the hangar display case and that makes the packaging very very bulky. It is a nightmare to find a proper shipping box for one of these models, you can tell me how was the experience.

The B744 or B727 Modell Edition boxes are normal size, just like the rest of the models of IF200, GJ200 or BBOX. I know some ME Lufthansa B747 come with hangar but a very few have it, don't worry, mine won't be the exception.

Greetings to you my friend!!!
