Wink InFlight200 Air France B747-428 F-GITH pictures

Hi guys:

Well, I had the fortune to received my model and all I can say is "what a beauty". Fresh out from the box, honestly the font issue passes to a second term, here you can see some comparison photos with the Hogan version. Overall this model is great. As I can read in my model card, only a run of 240 units was made by Inflight, mine is #19. So, hope you get yours soon before it's to late.

Hope you like my photos, I will try to do some more. By the way, many thanks to Eddie, you are very reliable as always.

Any doubts or comments are welcome.

Greetings!!!

Great pics, Yogurtlite! Thank you for the comparison shots. It looks like the Hogan "wins" for most accurate title font and barcode. But I still give the IF version points, and am happy I have it on pre-order. It will look great by my Gemini AF 777 and A340. Just need a Gemini AF A330 and A380 now.

Mmmmm beautiful!! The HG actually isn't all bad, but the nose gear is too big.

Great arrival Erik! Perhaps some will say the wrong font is awfull and the blue is too light but why care? As long you like the model, that is the most important.

Thanks for posting.

Inflight has that 747-400 hands down! Your final shot of the 2 nose views together really seals that deal. To all the Hogan and Herpa 747 owners, yes including Herpa premium 747 of which I definitely am one, those 747 noses were NEVER right. The "squinting" cockpit windows and the extra lump on that nose. Thank you for the excellent comparison shots Yogurtlite.

Not TOO close though. Gemini manages to get the colours and font weight correct. My AF 777-228ER is a gem!

By the way . . . isn't Socatec supposed to be monitoring these Air France models before they go to production, or is Socatec 'asleep at the switch'?

Hello collectors:

Many thanks for your comments. Let me say both models have their cons and pros. For the Hogan; I think the color and font is more accurate and it has the spinning swirls on engines, nice level of details but not as much as Inflight has, obviously. Remember the Hogan was the last B744 using the old mold with the transparent windshield embedded at the front section, also consider the duck nose shape it has. So this would be a better model if Hogan had decided to make that model in the new mold, never happened.

The Inflight jumbojet, well the first thing you can watch at the pictures is the level of details it has. Much more bits added, markings and aerials too. The cons, missing engine swirls. If Hogan has them, why does Inflight don't? Remember the little concern in the wing joint? Well, there is a miniculous gap in rear joint between the body and the wings. Engine #1 a little bit angled towards the plane (can be easily fixed). But hey, that could be just my model, I am not saying all could be in the same situation. OK?

Greetings guys!!!

Mr. Upkeep:

Good evening to you. About Socatec anf this particular model, I don't think they are related with this model at all. Every Air France model I have in my collection (Hogan, Gemini or Jet-X) has the license of Socatec in their boxes, this one is the exception. That's was the first thing I searched for in the box but not, no Socatec inspection here.

That might explain the font "issue".

Have a wondeful night sir.

Hmmm have a really good price found for this beauty!! (120$ only) a real bargain. Kind of a bummer about the missing engline swirls and font, but perhaps it won't be so noticeable. Backup option is JC CX 77W.

Thanks for the photos first of all!

I've seen no. 004/240 and have currently no. 151/240 with me.

004 had a few minors faults I've had accepted. But two blacks spots on the underside were too much. One was just HUGE.

151 is much better but has a black fingerprint under the coating near the tail. Plus two smaller ones near the central main gear, on the belly. Would keep it though.

My question to everyone who already got one is hence: How's yours ;-) ?

I have the impression that looking for a 100% spotless one might be useless anyway.

Many thanks!

Hi:

Glad you like the pictures. Fortunately my B747 arrived in perfect shape and without factory defects like the ones you mention.

A perfect model is impossible, you will never find one that satisfies 100% your demands. Perhaps Modell Editions or Herpa Premiums are close to perfection but the rest are far beyond of it.

Greetings!

Nice model but I am not convinced by the AIR FRANCE tittle on the fuselage and the shade of the blue is not correct.

Things are very simple, I can't imagine this model in my glass cabinet, the livery looks too different from the others.

Not for me.

Odd, isn't it. I can't see InFlight banging these out and avoiding Socatec. Maybe Socatec lost their license with Air France? Who knows. I only have one unlicensed Air France model in my modest collection and that is the JCWings Fokker F.70. Beautifully crafted and 99.9% accurate.

The Hogan Benjamin is the one with the clear cockpit windows and the IF model has antennas.

Great Pictures. If i was going to buy one, it would the Inflight.
I actually like the lighter blue although I know it's not correct. The deal breakers with the Hogan for me are the squinted clear cockpit windows and the fact that it's so much white plastic that will turn yellow. I'd rather have a white model with
slightly lighter blue.
I don't collect Air France, but it does look nice and fresh

Hi mate:

The windshield, well that's a personal like, in my case it doesn't bother me. Talking about plastic, it will turn yellow if only and just only you put your model next to a window or very close to it. The body won't turn yellow as it is made of resin, but in the case of the engines, wings and stabilizers you should better put your model away from sunlight. I am telling you this because I have a experience with Hogan models.

It won't yellow if you take a proper care of your model.

Greetings!

Here where I live they eventually turn yellow. Even if you leave them in the box, It might take 10 years or so. And for some reason the quality of the plastic plays a part. Many people have expensive Lufthansa Herpa Premium models turn yellow. I have about 60 Hogans which are okay but my Herpa 1:200s are starting to go yellow. Many though are more than 10 years old
The last Hogan I bought was the Thai A380 1/200 last year aswell as the Herpa KLM MD-11
in 1/200.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but does anyone have a photo of the 747 next to a Gemini 777 or A340?

I'd like to see the font color differences between Inflight and Gemini.

I can take some pictures including those 3 models. I recently bought the B772ER and the A340 as well. Wait for those pictures during the weekend.

Thanks for the idea.

Thanks Yogurtlite, much appreciated!

I also have the 772 and if the colors aren't too different, I might consider the 744... if I can find one....

Here I am casually saying I might pick one up when it's sold out everywhere

I think there's one on eBay for over 350$

Bad timing guys, this B747 was a release from late 2013 or early 2014. It was long waited model and I guess it got sold out pretty quick. About those ebay sellers, like Accombi, it's so typical of them.

Here are the pictures I promised. Honestly, there is not a big discrepancy in colors between these metal replicas but I have to say the B772er has the darkest blue and red colors from all 4 models. I repeat, pictures enhance the colors and at first sight they look similar.

Gemini200 B777-200er
Gemini200 A340-300
Inflight200 B747-400
JC Wings B747-400ERF

After watching the pictures through my cellphone, I guess I need to recalibrate my PC monitor. How does the white color look at your monitors, mobiles or tablets?

Greetings and have a great Monday!

Thanks for the pics yogurtlite. From the pictures, the 777 seems like it has a darker blue than the other models. Would you agree?

Not a problem, I really enjoy taking pictures to my models. It is the first time a see together these eurowhite heavy weigh birds, like a true family. I was tempted to put the Hogan's A380 and Herpa's A380 "80 years" but those models are made of plastic and could differ from the rest.

About your question. I already answered it last night, please, read again carefully my previous post.

Hope you can find one at a decent price.

Greetings!

Just read your post again, I had read it last night and didn't see your comments about the blue paint ..

Just as I thought, the 777 is darker... It wouldn't prevent me from buying the 747, but who knows if I'll ever find one at a decent price. I can't even find a Hogan version on ebay...

Maybe JC wings will release one one day...
