Default Luxair (Luxavia) Fleet

hello dear all

here are some pics of my Luxair (Luxavia) fleet collection.

The first one i got already a long time ago, I can´t even remember how long ago it was...

It is the Lockheed L-1649 Super Starliner by Western Models

Next one in the line is the Boeing 707 by SM200 that i received a few months ago...

Last week i finally received the Boeing 747SP from SM200

Here are all 3 together, the only one missing is the Airbus A300, hopefully somebody will be doing this one day...

last shot is from the SM200 747SP together with the 1/500 scale 747SP by Herpa (Sample model)

many thanks

Marc from Luxembourg

Always nice to see a Western Model.

The WM Luxair L-1649 was first released back in 2002/3. As the old WM closed in 2007, doubt there are many out there, so look after it

I really like the Starliner in that Luxair livery. I have a 1/72 version.

All very smart looking models, a Caravelle would be good in the line up. I wouldn't mind new Western doing Luxair at some point.

hi there...

actually Luxair never flew all These airplanes....they belonged to a south african Airline called TREK Airways (Luxavia). Due to political reasons, they made an Arrangement with Luxair, to repaint their planes in Luxair colours, and were able to fly from south africa to europe.

the planes flew mainly between Johannesbourg and Luxembourg (with some technical stops enroute). Sometimes the planes were used for charter flights too, i remember seeing one 707 in a Bud Spencer movie, which was filmed somewhere in Thailand i think...

Moien Marc,

May I ask you for more pictures of the Herpa 1/500 sample, please?

Also Luxavia/Luxair also flew a DC-4 Skymaster in early years

Hope to see the 737-200 too.

Great collection!

Very intersting Marc .
I thought the 74L was painted in LG colours with a LX- registration to fly non stop to JNB all over African States .

Concerning the 707 , as far as i remember to what i have been told in the past , they used to make a technical refueling stop at Nice airport .

Do you know a little bit more about that .
Thanks
Regards
