Default IF200 - Philippine Airlines B747-400 arrival

Good evening. My Inflight 200 - PAL B747-400 model has arrived; anniversary gift from the wifey. I know it has the all boring euro-white livery; hoping they produce the B747-200 with the polished belly sometime in the near future. The 1/400 is a Phoenix bird. Cheers! T7 (my apologies for photo quality; have not yet upgraded the camera)

Very nice arrival! It's white but still think it's a great model. Perhaps because I can't remember seeing another PR scheme in my years of spotting.

Similar to new Iberia scheme but with a much more interesting tail. This does make a difference as it stands out against the white. Adding a little more colour would have made it better.

Put my order in.

The PAL model has a lot of detail at the front passenger windows, the pictures i have seen of the South African doesnt have these.

Why?

Thank you for the positive comments. I agree Inflight 200 has done superb work with this specific model/airline and kudos to you for ordering the model.

You are quite welcome, just trying my best to share some pics of the PAL B747-400 for other DAC collectors who also might be interested in acquiring the model for themselves.

Oh Yeah! She is huge and easy on the eyes, hee hee! It should hit some retailers later this week or so? Congrats on having it on pre-order and you shall be very pleased when it lands in your hangar.

Thank you, sir. This model fell within my model collecting criteria; even with the 95% euro white livery and most important = gift from the wife. With all the razzing she gives me about the collection, she made the exception for this one.

I totally agree with you on adding a tad bit more color to add a bit more character to the livery. True, the tail does grab the eyes upon first glance.

Cool of you to acquire the PAL B747-400 for your 1/200 fleet! For some reason I think pinoys/pinays have landed (set up shop) on almost every part of the planet! I hope they are not teaching you the 'bad/swear' words in tagalog? ha ha I was offered 'Balut' (filipino aphrodisiac ) on my first visit to the philppines a few years back, and I respectfully declined = that's an acquired taste that my eyes/stomach could not bear to attempt!! All in good fun! Cheers! T7

Awesome that you have tagged this beauty as a 'must have' for your collection, and based on the pics = your 1/200 fleet will welcome this fine model with 'open arms' (no indirect reference to Journey, hee hee). Saw the group back in 2008 on their first/only concert in Canada (toronto, molson amphitheater). Cheers! T7 (also, my only must have = is coming later this year and it's a DC-10 that attracted me to this hobby from a 1/400 perspective a few years back; I sat on the fence with the Herpa version and someone scooped it up from me at Aviation World during their Xmas sales; so I hoped that some manufacturer would produce the polished belly/metal version in the future and that date has finally arrived this year!)

Congrats on your order, and I agree the PAL has a bit more detailing than the SA, and I really don't know why that transpired? Just like JC Wings and their B777-300er vs B777-300 models (the regular 300 had more detailing done for some odd reason?) Cheers! T7

Hi Mr.Fred, I thank you and appreciate your kind comments on this fine looking model. Yes, this model brought a smile to my face since it came from the mrs. as an anniv gift. Yes, Inflight has produced a gem for PAL and B747-400 collectors. Now, just have to wait for that PAL DC-10 later this year, hee hee! Cheers! T7 (see you this weekend with a particular shiny DC-10 that was on your wish list? )

Yep, it's having a layover in London for a few days, ETA for Toronto is Feb 8th. You are quite welcome, beltloader (please, you don't have to be so formal with me = T7 is fine, ha ha ha! ) See ya on the weekend! T7

Thank you, SgtMoody for the compliment. Sometimes when Inflight 200 goes through their QC checklist they can really roll out some fine models for us DAC collectors. Yeah, I picked up that Phoenix PAL 747 bird about 5 years ago in Hong Kong at West Main Toys (pioneer centre) it was a good price and I had not seen many PAL B747-400 moulds on the market; so I scooped it up to add to my 1/400 fleet.

Thank you, smoothjazz! I agree that the B747-400 is an iconic aircraft that revolutionized air travel when it was first rolled out and still continues to bring awesome memories to first time B747 passengers. I know I will always remember my first trip on the "Queen of the Skies" after flying on narrow bodies/puddle jumpers. "Long Live" and "Hail" to the B747! Cheers! T7
