Default What's your favourite company in your collection

Mine would be BA as it's my countries airline and is my biggest fleet!!

And then it would be Air New Zealand as it has some cool liveries!

TWA because I had family work for them and grew up flying them. Followed by my AA fleet.

It is a tie between KLM and United NC. I probably have more United, but I really like the livery on the KLM.

I would have to say Air Macau as I only have two planes in my collection and the other one is broken, but I really can't complain. I bought the two planes together in the same order, and when I contacted the seller about the damage to the other plane he refunded my entire purchase.

Who would be the manufacturer of the BA J328 that you have in the top pic. Also what scale would it happen to be in. Thanks

I would have to go with my small fleet of Wardair, followed by CP Air.

Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air. I Have 29 models for those two carriers, only need 4-5 more and I'll have all the releases currently done in 1/200 diecast.

It is made by Herpa in the 1:200 scale
It is discontinued and hard to find but you may get lucky and find one on eBay
It is 1:200 scale as that is what I collect and can sell between £30-50

Air New Zealand for me.. regardless of the scheme (retro, w/ or w/o the Pacific Wave, LOTR, Hobbit, All Blacks, etc.). While I am optimistic that more NZ will be made, I really hope there will be a Beechcraft 1900D mould soon so that ZK-EAG or EAK can be made That's the only aircraft missing from my All Blacks fleet..

Next on my list is American Airlines.

I have no ties to nationality, and my choices are just as much to do with the models than the company, so I have a long and varied list. Also not all are 1:200.....:

British Midland, I always remember seeing their planes landing at Glasgow, and now they are no more.

Swissair - Just because.

Alitalia - I only have my Gemini 250 MD-82 on display now, but I love it, its a great model and a definite 'keeper'.

United Arab Airlines (Egypt) - I really like the livery on that 1:400 Aeroclassics '707 I have.

Air Zimbabwe - The same effect as Air Koryo.

Kuwait Airways - Purely for the livery.

Iraqi - Not only is it Iraq, I also love that old green livery!!

Ariana - Its Afghanistan, need I say any more?

Air India - I love my IF200 '747 and is one of the few that is a 'keeper'.

Druk Air (Bhutan) - See that dragon fly!!

Air Koryo - See Air Zimbabwe

Ecuatoriana - One of my favourite models of all time is my IF200 model of the '707 in 'Jungle Bird' livery.

Viasa.

British Antarctic Survey - I love my 1:50 'Twotter'.

Air Greenland.

For me, it's this list:

1. KLM/Martinair/Transavia (52 models)
2. Lufthansa (27 models)
3. Air France (11 models)
4. Delta (10 models)
5. British Airways/BOAC (10 models)
6. Pan Am (9 models)
7. United (7 models)
8. Swissair (6 models)
9. Sabena (5 models)

Have got some more but these airlines are my favourite!
Have a great new year! Cheers!

..... Umm...... TWA?

Seriously though, 'Favourite Company' shouldn't be about how many models you have, more it should be about what you really like even if you only have one model.

I guess by 'favourite company' we mean favourite airline?

I gravitate strongly towards the livery of Air France. Crisp, clean and styish while being elegantly understated.

I also have a penchant for the airline I grew up with in the late 50's/early 60's . . . Canadian Pacific Airlines. Without this influence, I wouldn't be posting here.

Those are my two faves.

That's why I like Kuwait Airways, clean, crisp, simple, and it has cheatline too (for the people who love that sort of thing). It might be 'Euro White' yes, but to me its an example of how to use it correctly.

As for Canadian Pacific, well, as I've already said, British Midland was my equivalent!

Do I have many models of either? No, but that isn't really the point, to me a collection can be just as much about quality as it is quantity.

My favorite Company to collect would have to be CO, prior to the bankruptcy and deregulation. Back in the day when 'The Proud Bird with the Golden Tail' was still proud and air travel was truly an occasion. Actually, That's what got me started (hooked) on collecting 1:200's, chasing IF200's CO '1970's Blk Meatball' Boeing 707-324 reg. No. N67333.

Emirates as my aunt has worked for them for like 12 years as a stewardess and so used to buy me loads of models, books etc..
Also British Airways as it is my nations airway and has some I'm my favourite aircraft.
My other two would be Lufthansa and Austrian airlines, as I myself am half Austrian, and my family is of nazi german descent which is also why I like Messerschmitt a lot etc.. Tpbut thats a whole different story.

No 'quantity' found here -- just about a dozen and a half of models of aircraft that currently or have inspired me. Simple. I probably have the smallest collection of anyone at DA.C, and couldn't give a toss!

Not really surprising. Both those airlines have liveries that are considered by many to be among the most refined in the industry. To see them side-by-side in a collectors case would be no surprise to me. All it would say to me is that you appreciate fine design.
