Thanks T7 for the feedback. I'm glad you like the photos 'cause it takes a lot of time to get good shots, especially with the limitations I am dealing with. Guess what? Another heavy arrived at my door today and I'll be posting it soon. Hint: the word Landor comes to mind....
There's a few more birds on approach in the weeks to come so keep an eye to the sky here. Cheers.

Many of these airliners don't exist anymore either, the 1970's had many great flavors, that's for true the classic cheatlines and chrome bellies, these retro liveries do make airliners look at their best
The Delta & PAN-AM B741's look fantastic the same for the PAN-AM L-1011 Tristar 500 & American DC-10-30 too btw

Thanks for sharing man
Gold Leader, I just saw your post. Thank you very much for the response. Yeah, the retro liveries just push all the right buttons for me. Not to say that there are no likable planes of today, it's just that I am keeping my subject matter to a particular era of aviation. I agree with you about the polished bellies. They do make these planes look sexy.

Sure, I have a Canon 50D DSLR with a Canon Ultrasonic 28-135mm IS with Macro lens. Lately, the sensor has been showing signs of stuck pixels making me work longer to eliminate them from my shots. I've tried the manual sensor cleaning option, but they're still there. I may eventually have to get it serviced, but Photoshop quickly erases them. To get the sharpest images possible, I have the Live View engaged which already lifts the mirror in the camera body, then use a remote shutter release to complete the shot. Less camera shake means better sharpness. Cheers.

Here's a real treat. Another one to scratch off my list. Guys and Gals introducing the JFOX British Airways 747-236B City Of Winchester. Of course in Landor livery as I remember BA. Enjoy.

Hmm, 767 perhaps but the triple 7 is a little too further along from the timeline that I collect. You never know though, if I have the money to spare it just might happen.

BTW, there's a tri-holer on the way next.

As promised, a tri-holer for your enjoyment. Thank you so much Dai-Kong for coming through on this one. I was searching for a polished Lufthansa for ages and just about missed out on this release. So I took a few more shots of this beautiful aircraft cause it's so darn pretty. Enjoy

WOW! Just epic looking photos of those recent models you posted! You are a very, very bad man to post those very tempting models on the DAC! ! I must say you bring out the finer details for each of the models you photograph and really makes me want to scoop some of them up. Much restraint shown on my part to stick to my collecting criteria. Again, great lighting and I really like the various angles of shots you took of each model. Keep them coming, sir! Cheers! T7

Seeing the LH DC-10-30 and your avatar reminded me of how the -40 came to be. Douglas was going to name it the -20 Series. Northwest complained not wanting a lower number than 30--hence the -40

Great photos!

Hi Baerke. Thank you very much. Here are a couple photos of the SR-71 next to a DC-10-30. The Blackbird is not as big as the Silverbird, but it is pretty impressive nonetheless. Very nice detail in the Hogan model. I hope this helps.

Hello and welcome!

After a long drought of self-loathing and mental crisis, my photo archive thread is back and alive and well. I have much to photograph. MUCH. Please stick around and let me know what you think of my upcoming images. It has been a few years since I last posted in here, so sit back, relax and keep an eye to the skies.

I am in the process of tuning-in my setup, so bare with me and the images will get better over time.

So let's get on...

What finer way is there to begin again with one of the classic of classics? Here is the beautiful Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 500 in the greatest United Airlines livery of all time. SAUL BASS!!!

Thank you Baerke! Yeah, it feels good to shoot once again. When I took my strobe lights out of the storage box, there was a coat of sticky goo all over them. It seems that over time rubber degrades and breaks-down into a layer of sticky muck. I don't know why the manufacturer didn't think of this when they made these lights. I had to research how to restore them. Turns out Windex and a cloth removes the goo, but it takes time and persistence. But it will return again because the rubber won't stop degrading once it begins. Ugh! Next time, I'll stay far away from rubber coating.

Don't worry, I have plenty of aircraft in the taxi lane waiting for their photos.

Thanks Rocky. My memory is faded when it comes to the L-1011, but the tail can never be mistaken. As a youth, I saw many more -10s than TriStars. A shame since both aircraft are legends.

Awesome additions Tony All dem B747's doh, then I see this hah okay then Here my KC-10 vs SR-71 scale 1:72 comparison just for gigs

Size can matter I guess :'D

So yeah there ya go ya know

The ERTL/AMT North American XB-70 A Valkyrie kind of wins tbh size wise, it's max speed is still a beefy Mach 3.1, yet the SR-71 A Blackbird could do Mach 3.6 I believe it was, which is pretty crazy xD

That Blackbird is my oldest and first model I built it way back in August of 1986, had it ever since, I was around 9 years old when I built it, the decals I applied at a much later time around 1991-ish when I lived in The Netherlands for no longer than one year. back in 1986, my fam & I lived in Bunbury, Western Australia, the modelkit is from Monogram, a brand that later became Revell.

Excellent job on those models! I wish I can get me hands on a Valkyrie, but it is very cost prohibitive.

I'm glad you like my Queens because there are more to come.

Okay, here's a model that I picked up for one purpose: to be a donor for a (hopefully) easy custom. My love for Northwest rips at my heart strings for using this Queen, but she will still remain a Northwest cargo, just an older incarnation. My intent is to remove the '90s livery and make her a NWO cargo Queen. I have all the necessary decals and such so the only things that I worry about are if the polish resists the removal of the tampos, and if I can successfully remove the white on the engines without mucking them up. I don't foresee any need to do a clear coat other than over the new decals, so I will probably do a mask/spray or a mask/brush technique. (Any positive and contributing advice is welcome.)

I figured she deserves a photo shoot as she originally intended to be represented. She is a stunning model, and I recommend getting one for the Northwest fans here.

Great subjects and great photos Anthony. Thank you for finding time to set up, shoot, edit and post your new additions. I can assure you, it's very much appreciated. Great stuff, I also like the military editions in your collection (all of them).

Well, we knew this was coming since JCWings announced its future release. I must say, JCWings is right on par with Gemini 200 with this model. It is magnificent. Any AA fan NEEDS this in their collection. You won't be disappointed.

Many thanks Baerke. I'm starting to dial-in my setup so the results are getting better. I forgot how time consuming these shoots are. Between setup, shooting, post processing, uploading and finally posting to DA.C, it can take hours.

Spend all that time for forumite rivet counters to criticize.
Nice piccies BTW

Sometimes very difficult to get motivated to set all the gear up.

depression? or are we as a collectorate more Bi-polar/ocd?

ie buying loads of stuff to satisfy the need, then wondering why?
