Gemini 200 C-17 ramp fixes
Hi y'all!

I got a Gemini 200 Canadian C-17 off eBay at a very reasonable price. Well, it is a nice model and I love the RCAF insignia (like the RAAF one's too).

Anyway, I am wondering about the ramp. First off, how does it work on the C-17? Do I understand it correctly that if the ramp is open the upper part should be tilted inwards too? Because on my model it won't stay in that position:

When closing the ramp the lower part tends to fall down. Even if it sits correctly the upper part does not completely align with it:

As you guys always have creative ideas: Any hints how complete modelling dummies can make the ramp parts stay in place for either position?

So far I am thinking about a few dabs of white glue to keep the ramp closed. That operation should be "reversible" if I want to display it with an open ramp one day...

I would use rubber cement. It should stay pliable, and if you get it in the hinge itself, may add enough tension to have the ramp work normally. The cement should also be completely reversible as it will peel right off.

I'm not sure about the cement's compatibility with the paint. so I would test a small patch before use.

Yep what Retroguy said. Looks like you have a missing ramp. Here's a pic of one of mine with the ramp down.

Re: Gemini 200 C-17 ramp fixes
Hi Gabe, Retroguy, thanks for your replies but I think there's a misunderstanding. I have the ramp. But when attached it does not help keep the cargo doors closed/aligned and it has no influence on the upper door not remaining open.

I added an arrow to the photo to show what I meant:

Basically you can push the upper half of the door inwards as shown with the arrow. But it won't stay in that position but always fall back to be as shown in the photo.

Hope that shows it better.
