Looks that the blue color is just right, compared to the light blue I have seen in the pre-release pictures.

Re: Landed: A380 House

Mine arrived on the week-end. What a beauty! Bought it directly from HK and the seller promised to choose the best model he had. I think he well might have.

I saw it mainly in artificial light but I think the corporate blue might indeed be a shade too light but not so much that it bothers me.

My only issue is that the stand arrived broken with the nuts broken out of their sockets without ever having had to carry the weight of the model. I glued it with superglue in the sockets and on the two surfaces where the wood meets the metal part, but I am unsure if I'll ever dare put it on a stand.

Re: Landed: A380 House

Here are some interesting shots, I found my Skymarks A380 house colours (sitting in a box a storeage box in the garage) which I had forgot I had, and was so excieted to get back when it was released, only simply to compare with the Boeing's 747-400 at the time and I knew Qantas had placed orders. I have to say Skymarks did a good job (except cockpit windows). Since Skymarks release of Airbus A380, Airbus changed House Colours as you all know. I never ever would have expected to have this model in diecast. My diecast copy arrived last week and decieded not to post since SuperKungFu did such a great job with his photos. Here is another concept for you fellow collectors to compare JC's A380 diecast mould versus Skymarks original House A380 colours release.

Nice comparison shots with the 787.

The old colours are quite unique....not many 1:200 models - or any other scale for that matter that have the old colours.

Re: Landed: A380 House

Does anyone know how many JC Wings A380 House colors have been manufactured ???

Arnaud

Re: Landed: A380 House

i believe that A380 skymarks is the first gen. it was released before the actual A380 was released hence the flight deck windows are incorrect. the second skymark a380 has the right windows size compared to hogan's and herpa's...

speaking of the jc 380 stand, i wouldnt put my model on it i believe in the long run it will bend due to the stress of the weight of the model....i can slightly see some flat spots on the tires...due to weight. as i already put my model on the detolf shelf...space is tight btw:rolleyes:

I am slightly at a loss how to display this beauty. I'd hate the tires to be flat but I do not fully trust the stand. I would not mind it bending over time, but I would not want it to break with the models on it... (Plus if the A380 came down nose first on a glass shelf who knows what would happen.)

What a superb model! Mine has just landed (many thanks Arcunia for the great service/super packing!).

Now to await a BA or DLH model to become available??

Re: Landed: A380 House

I fully trust the stand it comes with. The metal is stiff enough, even though sometimes the way the bracket screws into the base is questionable. However, the attachment points of the bracket lies underneath the base, and this allows the weight of the model to keep the bracket firmly in place.

Re: Landed: A380 House

A quick question - I need a detolf display case with shelves. What size do I need please for a few A380's and 747's.

Thanks
